Prof. Emlano presented his research titled, โ€œMeaning in Absurdity and Meaninglessness of Persons with Substance Use Disorder: An Albert Camus-Inspired Approach to Safeguarding Mental Health,โ€ which examined how the philosophy of Albert Camus can provide a framework for understanding meaning and promoting mental well-being among persons with substance use disorder.

The study highlighted the relevance of existential philosophy in addressing contemporary mental health concerns, emphasizing the importance of finding meaning amid lifeโ€™s challenges and uncertainties.

His final defense was evaluated by a panel composed of Prof. de Vivar, Dr. Dayap, and Rev. Fr. Alipin, OAR. The research was conducted under the guidance of Prof. G. Gulay, with Dean Dr. L. Munalim serving as chairperson during the defense.

TAGOLOAN, Misamis Oriental โ€” TCC Quill, the official student publication of Tagoloan Community College, mobilized its senior staff and newly recruited members for its first official campus coverage of Academic Year 2026โ€“2027 during the College's Opening of Classes Kick-Off Program on July 20 at the TCC Grounds.

The coverage brought together the publication's senior staff and new members, who were deployed across the campus to document the opening program through news writing, photojournalism, videography, and broadcast reporting.

As students, faculty members, and college officials welcomed the new academic year, TCC Quill reporters conducted interviews, documented key activities, and captured photographs and video footage for the publication's print, online, and social media platforms.

The event also served as the first field assignment for the publication's newest members, providing them with hands-on experience in campus reporting while working alongside senior staff and applying the principles of responsible, ethical, and accurate journalism.

The coverage officially marked the beginning of TCC Quill's news operations for Academic Year 2026โ€“2027, reaffirming the publication's commitment to delivering timely, factual, and relevant coverage of events and developments within the college community.
