Tagoloan Community College 4th-Year Students Gear Up for Field Study and Practice Teaching
The 4th Year students of Tagoloan Community College took part in the Orientation on the Deployment of Pre-Service Teachers for Experiential Learning Course: Field Study and Practice Teaching, on September 18, 2026, held at the Tagoloan National High School Court.
TAGOLOAN, MISAMIS ORIENTAL — The activity started with the preliminaries where the students then proceeded to a series of discussions covering important guidelines and responsibilities that they need to understand as they prepare for their Field Study and Practice Teaching.
The first discussion focused on DepEd Order No. 3, s. 2007: Guidelines on the Deployment of Pre-Service Teachers on Experiential Learning: Field Study and Practice Teaching, presented by Irish Karylle D. Monte, Senior Education Program Specialist for Human Resource Development.
The orientation continued with DepEd Order No. 016, s. 2026: Guidelines on Lesson Planning and Learning Design, discussed by Mary Jane C. Birondo, Head Teacher II of Baluarte Elementary School. This was followed by a discussion on DepEd Order No. 15, s. 2026: Revised Guidelines on Classroom Assessment, Grading System, and Awards and Recognition, led by Andrian F. Tecson, PhD., School Principal I of Solana Elementary School.
The afternoon program began with Classroom Observation using the Classroom Observation (OC) Tool, discussed by Titus Cruz, School Principal I of Sta. Ana Elementary School. The students then learned about the DepEd Child Protection Policy under DepEd Order No. 40, s. 2012, presented by Catherine Ann S. Alcala, PhD., Senior Education Program Specialist for Social Mobilization (SOCMOB).
The afternoon discussions continued with the Code of Ethics of Professional Teachers, led by Carnila D. Simacon, PhD., Public Schools District Supervisor. The topic gave the students another important reminder about the responsibilities and proper conduct expected from future educators.
Through the different discussions throughout the orientation, the 4th Year students gained information that can help them become more prepared for their upcoming Field Study and Practice Teaching. With their field experience ahead, the orientation also gave them a better understanding of what to expect and the responsibilities they will carry as future educators.
