In celebration of Nutrition Month 2026, the Bachelor of Elementary Education Program, through the Bachelor of Elementary Education Student Association (BEESA), successfully conducted a community outreach program on July 28, 2026, at the Rural Improvement Community Development Center (RICDC), Purok 5, Malaiba, Barangay Casinglot, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental. Anchored on the themes, โNutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan!โ and โSa PPAN: Sama-sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat para sa Lahat!โ, the activity aimed to promote nutrition awareness, health education, and meaningful community engagement among the kindergarten learners, parents, and residents.
The program was graced by the presence of Dr. Jeddah B. Quiรฑo-Justol, Assistant Community Extension Services Coordinator; Mr. Michael Vincent S. Casiรฑo, BEED Program Head; Mrs. Ivy Daguplo, Adviser of Malaiba Kindergarten; and Ms. Mary Ann Tuson, representative of the College of Education Student Body Organization (SBO). During the program, Dr. Quiรฑo-Justol, Mr. Casiรฑo, and Mrs. Daguplo delivered inspiring messages highlighting the importance of proper nutrition, quality education, and strong community partnerships in promoting the holistic development of every child.
A meaningful health education session was facilitated by the Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS), who shared valuable information on childhood immunization, family planning, and proper nutrition with parents and community members. This was followed by interactive learning activities conducted by the BEESA Officers and BEED Student Admins, where the children actively participated in educational songs, dances, and engaging discussions that promoted healthy habits in a fun and age-appropriate manner.
To further support the children's well-being, nutritious snacks consisting of egg sandwiches, boiled eggs, bananas, and Milo were distributed. The activity concluded with the turnover of school and art materials, providing the kindergarten learners with additional resources to encourage creativity and continuous learning.
The success of this outreach program reflects the Bachelor of Elementary Education Program's commitment to extending learning beyond the classroom by fostering compassion, volunteerism, and community partnership. More importantly, it highlighted the shared responsibility of educators, students, families, and community stakeholders in promoting the health, education, and overall welfare of every child.
The Bachelor of Elementary Education Program extends its sincere gratitude to the Barangay Casinglot Council headed by their Barangay Captain for its invaluable support throughout the outreach program, particularly in providing transportation assistance that greatly contributed to the successful implementation of the activity. We also express our heartfelt appreciation to SK Kagawad Ms. Angel Canares for her generous assistance and unwavering support.
Special thanks are likewise extended to our BEED Faculty, led by Mr. Michael Vincent S. Casiรฑo, BEED Program Head; Dr. Jeddah B. Quiรฑo-Justol, Assistant Community Extension Services Coordinator; the Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS), BEESA Officers, BEED Student Admins, parents, volunteers, and every individual who contributed their time and effort to make this community outreach initiative meaningful and successful.
