Today, we celebrate National Education Support Personnel Day in accordance with Republic Act No. 12178, s. 2025, which declares May 16 of every year as a day to recognize the vital contributions of education support personnel.

A warm welcome, Prof. Paroan!

𝗦𝗟𝗦𝗨 𝗝𝗚𝗘 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿-𝗶𝗻-𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲

In a move that highlights the university’s commitment to leadership and service, the Southern Luzon State University officially designates Prof. Edsel P. Paroan as the new Officer-in-Charge of the SLSU Judge Guillermo Eleazar (JGE) Tagkawayan Campus, effective April 21, 2025.

Issued by University President Dr. Frederick T. Villa, the designation recognizes Prof. Paroan’s capability to take on administrative responsibilities in the exigency of service. Along with this role, he shall receive an Equivalent Teaching Load (ETL) of 12 units and corresponding benefits and privileges in line with existing government rules and university regulations.

The SLSU community looks forward to the leadership of Prof. Paroan in guiding the campus toward greater heights while continuing to uphold the core values of excellence, service, and unity.

House approves An Act Converting SLSU Catanauan into a Regular Campus in the 1st Reading

The Congress approved House Bill No. 10140, also known as “An Act Converting the Southern Luzon State University-Catanauan Extension Campus in the Municipality of Catanauan, Province of Quezon, into a Regular Campus to be Known as the Southern Luzon State University-Catanauan Campus and Appropriating Funds Therefor,” during the 31st Regular Committee Meeting on April 29, 2024.

The proposed conversion of SLSU Catanauan into a regular campus will ensure that citizens of Catanauan Municipality and surrounding areas have equitable access and opportunities for quality education.
