SAN FRANCISCO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CELEBRATES RABIES AWARENESS MONTH
Theme: “Rabies Free na Aso’t Pusa, Kaligtasan ng Pamilyang Pilipino”

In compliance with Executive Order No. 84 (Philippines, 1999), which declares March as Rabies Awareness Month, San Francisco Elementary School actively joined the nationwide campaign to promote rabies prevention and responsible pet ownership. This year’s theme, “Rabies Free na Aso’t Pusa, Kaligtasan ng Pamilyang Pilipino,” underscores the importance of protecting families by ensuring the health of pets and preventing rabies transmission.
To mark the occasion, the school conducted a series of educational activities designed to engage learners and raise awareness:
Film Viewing – Facilitated by Mrs. Francia T. Segarra, students watched an informative film highlighting the importance of rabies prevention, responsible care for pets, and safety measures when encountering animals.
Discussion – School Head Mrs. Josephine L. Paral led a discussion where students reflected on the lessons from the film, clarified doubts, and learned practical ways to prevent rabies in their homes and communities.
Sharing Experiences – Guided by Mrs. Josephine L. Paral, learners shared personal stories about interactions with pets and stray animals, fostering empathy, awareness, and a sense of responsibility among students.
The activities were well-received by learners, who actively participated and showed enthusiasm in learning how to protect themselves and their families from rabies. Through this program, San Francisco Elementary School continues to uphold its commitment to public health, community welfare, and the values of responsibility and empathy.
By celebrating Rabies Awareness Month, the school reinforces its dedication to government initiatives and promotes a culture of safety, health, and awareness within the school and the community.
