𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: BISU delegates gather for the Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar and Distribution of Uniforms as preparations intensify for the National Culture and Arts Festival 2026.

With organized discussions and clear guidance from facilitators, BISU delegates were oriented on the official itinerary, expectations, and code of conduct for the upcoming national event. Campus cultural directors, advisers, parents, and student performers actively took part in the session, ensuring readiness and coordination across all delegations. The activity highlights a shared commitment to excellence, discipline, and pride in representing BISU in the celebration of culture and the arts.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: Screening of documents takes place as Region 7 prepares for the National Culture and the Arts Festival (NCAF)2026, at the University of the Philippines Cebu on March 12.

Through coordinated efforts and careful evaluation, the screening process ensured that all credentials met the required standards for the region's participation in the much awaited national event. The activity also reflected the region’s sustained commitment to cultural and artistic development.

𝙇𝙊𝙊𝙆: University Directors and Culture and Arts representatives from across Bohol Island State University (BISU), joined together on February 12, 2026 to finalize plans for the upcoming regional and national festivals.

The coordination meeting, held at the BISU Main Campus Culture and Arts Office, focused on aligning institutional initiatives and refining competition protocols to ensure a unified approach. 𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: The Association of Sugbohol State Universities and Colleges (ASUGBOHOL-SUCs) conducted a high-level coordination meeting with the Directors of Sports and Cultural Services from across the region at Cebu Technological University–Main Campus.

Under the leadership of Dr. Lemuel P. Abdul, Regional Director of Culture & Arts VII, the session finalized the guidelines and programs for the upcoming National and Regional Culture and Arts Festivals (NCAF/RCAF).

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: Sports and Cultural directors from all BISU campuses recently gathered at the Main Campus for a coordination meeting. The session focused on synchronizing efforts for major upcoming events, ensuring the university is well-prepared for the competitive season ahead.

The agenda centered on key milestones including National Arts Month and the Literary Arts Festival. Additionally, the directors finalized strategic plans for the Regional Culture and Arts Festival and upcoming National Competitions to strengthen BISU’s standing on the regional and national stages.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: University Presidents and Directors for Culture and the Arts, as well as Sports, from across SUCs in Region VII convened for an important meeting on January 17, 2026, at Jj’s Seafood Village, Tagbilaran City.

The meeting served as a platform for discussions on key regional initiatives, including updates on the National Culture and Arts Festival and strategic planning for the upcoming Regional PASUC Culture and the Arts Festival, set for March 3–6, 2025. October might be a stressful and tiring month for most of the students, but did you know that it has been a creative and imaginative month for MUGNA Visual Artists Guild? Learn more about this through a featured article brought to you by ALAMPAT.

𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 | Time whirls like the wind, and suddenly, October has arrived at our doorsteps. Many students simply saw it as another month weighed down by demanding lessons and an ever-growing mountain of schoolwork, but for the artists of Bohol Island State University, it is an opportunity unfolding right in front of their eyes—a chance to showcase their colorful minds and creative hands.

Introduced by Jake Parker, InkTober started as a personal initiative to improve his inking techniques and build consistent drawing habits. What began as a simple challenge eventually grew into a global movement embraced by artists around the world. This annual, month-long art activity has since found its way to BISU Main Campus, where the MUGNA Visual Arts Guild chose to revive and celebrate the tradition within the university. To them, it is not just a tradition or a challenge; it is where creativity thrives, perspectives widen, and confidence grows in their crafts.

Each week, a fresh set of themes was unveiled—guiding the artists like quiet signals before the creative storm, allowing them the freedom to choose their preferred medium, encouraging both experimentation and growth. For the first three weeks, the themes included Randomized Prompts, Dreamscapes, and Glow Art. However, for the last week of October, which centered on the theme Mystery and Horror, the artists used ink for the first five days and any medium of their choice for the remaining days. Some students expressed their captivation of the entries made, stirring nostalgic rush and fascinated with various interpretations of the given theme. These themes serve not only as guides but also as a way to unite artists with one purpose: to let the world see a glimpse of their potential and to explore a wide range of imaginative and distinctive ideas, celebrating creativity in all its forms.

Although InkTober might appear effortless when viewed through scrolling polished artworks online, the reality for an artist is far from easy. Constant changes challenge their ability to think outside the box, squeeze out their creative juices, and adapt their art styles in unique and meaningful ways. Balancing schoolwork, quizzes, and sleeping hours often made the daily prompts feel like a battle against time itself. Sometimes the work felt rushed, but confidence and determination fueled their desire to push through. Despite the pressure, the experience led them to self-discovery and encouraged them to move away from their usual norms.

From hours of brainstorming to rushing deadlines to showcasing their talents online, InkTober brought joy and meaning to the artists. Seeing their creations alongside the works of their fellow artists filled their hearts with happiness and ignited their motivation to step out of their comfort zones and explore new styles and techniques they had never tried before. The event allowed students to learn not only from their own progress but also from one another, cultivating a sense of belonging within a large creative community that encourages growth and exploration.

The event may have ended, but its impact lingers long after the month closes. It teaches discipline, sparks imagination, and reminds every artist that creativity thrives when shared with others. As new ideas continue to grow from what was once a blank page, one thing becomes clearer to everyone: InkTober is not just an artist’s challenge—it is a celebration of growth, expression, and courage.
