This poem makes me relive those times when I was so much younger, those times when I had feelings for a boy at school. The only difference was that he never knew about it. I don't think he even knew I existed. lol
Thank you for sharing this, Pam.

This poem was written for a man he was with during a time in his life when he allowed people to undermine his principles in exchange for acceptance. This is Pipes Clavano's first contribution to The Mamanghagay.

Juya Moreno, the author of this poem, always had interesting posts, specifically on Facebook. When I asked her to write for Mamangahagay, this is what she came up with. This is her first contribution to the page.

"I know why they still hurt you.
Do you want to know why?
I'll tell you even if you don't want me to.
It's because you allow them.
You let them consume all the goodness in you.
You let the past catch up."

Yawyaw sa mga Iro: Forgive and Forget
I can totally relate to this, Pam. I just had a recent experience that's quite similar to the one gone through by the one narrating in this poem. Thank you.- Davey

It's been more than six years since I last wrote a poem. The life I found as an adult in the big city, the new people I met, and the internet came into my life and, it's as if I have forgotten the art that has been my companion growing up. It saddened me to realize this, especially knowing how much poetry, as a form of expression has helped me survive the most difficult times of my life as a teenager. Good thing I got to reunite with Athena Garcia and Rey Carlo Sajulan, two of those people whose mere presence, not to mention, poems. reminded me of what it is that I lost and that I have to regain.
Here's a poem I wrote recently as an attempt to resurrect the little god in me by creating a little world, through the power of words and imagination. - Davey Ross Musong
