Today marks the beginning of another wonderful school year at Bohol Deaf Academy, and our hearts are filled with joy as we welcome our students back to campus. 🤟📒📚

This new school year brings fresh opportunities for learning and growth, especially in further developing the skills of our dear students. As they take another step forward, they will continue to grow both academically and in their practical abilities, moving to a higher level than before. 😊🥰

IDEA once again successfully conducted an Orientation Camp for prospective Deaf students and their parents across all IDEA-supported schools in Bohol.

Following the Deaf survey, Orientation camp was conducted last June 2-5, 2026. This meaningful event increased parents’ understanding of deafness and their children’s unique needs while introducing them to IDEA’s educational programs and support services. It empowered families to become active partners in their children’s learning and future success. The children also received free hearing screenings and physical check-ups to support their health and development.

The success of this event would not have been possible without the dedication and support of the Municipal Health Officers from Loon, Talibon, Sagbayan, and Jagna, Bohol Hearing Clinic, teachers, and staff who generously shared their time, expertise, and efforts. Their commitment played a vital role in making the Orientation Camp a meaningful and successful experience for the families we serve.

Every home visit uncovers a story of growth, perseverance, and meaningful community engagement.

During a recent visit, our Deaf Wellness Division (DWD) staff were delighted to see the beautifully painted porch of one of our Deaf students’ homes. What made it even more remarkable was learning that the student himself had completed the artwork. His creativity, dedication, and initiative were clearly reflected in the project, demonstrating how he continues to develop and apply his artistic talents even during the school break.

Stories like this serve as a powerful reminder that learning does not end when classes are out of session. With encouragement, opportunity, and determination, students can continue to discover, nurture, and showcase their unique gifts in their homes and communities.

Through IDEA’s annual home visitation program, we remain connected with our learners and their families, gaining valuable insights into their lives beyond school while supporting their well-being, personal development, and continued growth. These visits allow us to celebrate each student’s achievements and witness firsthand the positive impact of their education on everyday life.🫶
