— The students of CNHS are learning the basics of First Aid one step at a time to fit their motto, "LAGING HANDA and ALWAYS READY". The BSP, GSP, and SRCY came together as one as they learn how to do the basics of bandaging and learn the types of Lift and Drags, so that in the upcoming future these kinds of skills and knowledge will be useful and handy. Because learning the basics is the first step in becoming an awesome savior.

— Always remember the most important knowledge a first aider must have is the basics of bandaging, because it might be just basics now but later it can already save countless lives. And as they say, "NEVER JUDGE THE BOOK BY ITS COVER", so before judging it, why not open it, learn it, and discover! MABUHAY to those people who are willing to learn how to save lives, the future is in your hands!

"One Drop, One Action | Be Ready, Be A Hero"

Cogon National High School July talks about 2 things that can literally save lives: "Blood" and "Readiness".July is "National Blood Donor Month", and also "National Disaster Resilience Month".

👥: Humans aren’t vampires… so why do we need to give blood?

🗣️: Well kiddo, blood is what keeps our whole body moving. Without it, everything stops just like a bike without wheels.

🗣️: Did you know? One bag of blood can save 3 lives. Yes, 3 lives. You don’t need a cape to be a hero. You just need to volunteer and donate. By giving blood, you give people more time more birthdays, more graduations, more chances at life.

👥: What about Disaster Resilience Month?

🗣️: Be ALWAYS READY the RCY way. We prepare ourselves mentally, physically, and skillfully through trainings and experience. We learn how to prepare, what to prepare, where to evacuate, and why we need the proper way to help people in need.

🗣️: One disaster won’t stop us from living. Let’s face these problems and rise together as one.

REMEMBER: One problem won’t stop you from living life to the fullest. All you need is to be mindful and ready so you can rise, grow, and move on to the next chapter of life.

So this July, I’m inviting every Cogon NHS student: Be part of the Senior Red Cross Youth. Donate blood if you can. Train with us if you’re willing. Practice kindness every day.

Because in RCY, we don’t wait to be needed. We’re ALWAYS READY.

👥: Unsa ng Senior Red Cross Youth Council, kuya/ate?

🗣️: CNHS-SRCY is a volunteer group trained to help people in need. Here’s what we do:

•Emergency Response & First Aid:
—Trained in Basic Life Support and First Aid so we're always ready in case accidents or disasters.

•Community Outreach:
—We run blood donation drives and assist in distributing relief goods when the need arises.

•Health Education:
—We teach disease prevention, mental health awareness, and social well-being to fellow students.

If you love helping others, being a Red Cross Youth member is for you. And the best part? You benefit too.

What do you gain?
—During training you’ll learn how to treat wounds and handle medical situations. Those skills stay with you for life and can be useful anytime.

🗣️: Red Cross Youth is built on 4 core trainings:

•Humanitarian Values:
—Learn the Red Cross principles: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality.

•Healthy Lifestyles:
—Join Pledge 25 blood drives and learn about substance abuse prevention.

•Leadership Skills:
—Build life-saving skills through first aid, BLS, and disaster risk reduction.

•Friendship & Solidarity:
—Meet people, build teamwork, and promote peace locally and globally.
