​What happens when an ancient Diwata starts a livestream? Or when the Ibong Adarna goes viral?

​We are preparing a special collection that explores the concept of Modernizing Filipino Mythology. We aren't looking at myths as dusty relics of the past, but as living templates ready to be "remixed" for the digital age.

​BSED English students from the Contemporary, Popular, and Emergent Literature class will share with you their modern retellings of Filipino myths and legends.

​📱👾 Here is what to expect from this series:
​🌿 Social Commentary: See how ancient archetypes are reimagined to tackle today’s issues—from climate change to mental health.
🤳 New Avatars: Imagine Maria Makiling as an eco-activist or the Ibong Adarna as a glitching digital influencer.
💻 Emergent Formats: We’re moving beyond the oral tradition and into vlogs, leaked chats, and social media threads.
​These stories argue that to keep our heritage alive, we must let it speak to the modern Filipino experience.

In celebration of UB Days 2025, the Linguaphiles Organization proudly concludes its Wreath Making Contest, held in alignment with the Campus Student Organization’s activities.

This creative and collaborative endeavor was led by Linguaphiles' President Martha Jean Inson and Vice President John Mark Cabagnot, together with the talented Creative Team - Geraldene Brylle Huiso and Liza Marie Corbita - whose efforts brought color and character to the entire activity.

Our heartfelt appreciation to the esteemed judges for sharing their time, dedication and expertise during the evaluation.

Here’s to more inspiring collaborations and celebrations ahead. 💙
