ANNOUNCEMENT: POSTPONEMENT OF THE AAHNU PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT

“PLAY FOR THE SCHOLARS FUND RAISING TOURNAMENT”

We would like to inform all players, teams, and supporters that the upcoming “PLAY FOR THE SCHOLARS” Pickleball Tournament has been postponed. This is due to an unforeseen conflict in the Gymnasium schedule as well as a schedule overlap with another tournament.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. The organizing committee has the final dates January 10-11 (Beginners Category) and January 24-25, 2026 (Intermediate Category).

We will continue with the registration of teams. Each registrants will receive a AAHNU event shirt

HNU Alumni Association Launches "Play for the Scholars 2025" Season 12

Cheers filled the Holy Name University (HNU) Gymnasium as the Play for the Scholars Season 12 officially opened on August 17, 2025, in a ceremonial program organized by the HNU Alumni Association Board of Trustees.
Now on its 12th season, the annual event continues to serve as a meaningful fundraising activity for the Scholars of the HNU Alumni Association.This year’s opening ceremony featured inspiring messages from Alumni BOT President Atoy Torralba and Dr. Eumere Malalis of Batch 1993. Meanwhile, Ross Cabagnot of Batch 1998 led the Oath of Sportsmanship.
The highlight of the day was the launch of the 2025 Basketball Games, marking the first major sporting event of the season.
In addition to basketball, the Play for the Scholars 2025 line-up includes upcoming tournaments in volleyball, lawn tennis, and pickleball, set to take place mid-September. Proceeds from the registration will go directly to the scholarship program of the association, which currently supports seven scholars.
