We deeply mourn the passing of Mrs. Rizalina Cereno, a devoted SVD Lay Mission Partner, and a cherished alumna of both the Divine Word Seminary, Certificate in Theological Studies, and the Divine Word Institute of Mission Studies, Certificate in Mission Studies.

Her faith, commitment, and missionary spirit have touched many lives and reflected her deep love for the Word of God and the mission of the Church. Mrs. Cereno’s dedication and joyful service will be remembered with gratitude by her fellow lay partners, professors, and friends in the SVD family.

We entrust her soul to the loving mercy of the Divine Word, confident that the seeds of faith and service she has sown will continue to bear fruit in the hearts of those she inspired.

May the Risen Lord grant her eternal rest and console her family and loved ones with the hope of resurrection.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.

In his Actus Academicus lecture titled "The Church is a Community of Missionary Disciples," Fr. Edgar G. Javier, SVD, founder and former director of the Divine Word Institute of Mission Studies (DWIMS), called on the Church to reexamine its mission.

The event, held earlier today, August 10, 2024, after the Mass of the Holy Spirit, was hosted by Fr. Antonio M. Pernia, SVD, the Vice Director for Studies at DWIMS, and concluded with an open forum moderated by Fr. Pernia.

The lecture was attended by students, faculty, staff, and alumni of DWIMS.

Students, faculty, and staff of the Divine Word Institute of Mission Studies (DWIMS) gathered for the Mass for the Holy Spirit at the DWIMS Chapel last August 10, 2024, with Fr. Samuel N. Agcaracar, SVD, DWIMS Director, as presider and homilist.

Fr. Agcaracar’s homily resonated deeply with the attendees, offering a powerful message for the upcoming academic year 2024-2025.
