High-low action is an offensive play involving two post players. One player catches the ball near the high post (free-throw line area) while the other establishes position near the basket. The high-post player then looks to pass to the low-post teammate for a high-percentage scoring opportunity.

Deny is a defensive technique where a defender positions themselves to make it difficult, or impossible, for an offensive player to receive a pass. Instead of simply guarding their player, the defender stays between the ball and the offensive player, using active hands, proper footwork, and body positioning to disrupt passing lanes.
