Planting Seeds for a Resilient Tomorrow!

In celebration of Environment Month and in support of the Mining Engineers' Convention (MinECon) 2026, our company joined the MGB Simultaneous Nationwide Tree Planting Activity.

Members and alternates of HMC’s Risk Management Committee (RMC), alongside our dedicated mining contractors and manpower service providers, rolled up their sleeves and headed to the field to plant trees for a greener, more sustainable future.

Together, we continue to demonstrate that responsible mining goes hand-in-hand with environmental stewardship and risk management. Big thanks to everyone who participated and made this activity a success!

Together for a greener tomorrow.

In observance of Environmental Month and in support of MinECon 2026, HMC delegates attending the Mining Engineers' Convention (MinECon) 2026 participated in the Simultaneous Nationwide Tree Planting Activity on June 12, 2026, at the Final Mine Rehabilitation and Decommissioning Plan Site of Berong Nickel Corporation in Brgy. Berong, Quezon, Palawan.

Together with the Mines and Geosciences Bureau and the mining industry, we reaffirm our shared commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable mining through collective action.

Supporting Local Cooperatives Toward Sustainable Growth

We remain committed to uplifting our host communities by helping local organizations build strong, sustainable futures.

From July 28 to 30, 2026, members from three of our supported cooperatives gathered at the Parkway Hotel in Surigao City for a comprehensive 3-day Cooperative Strategic Planning and Business Plan Formulation Training.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our expert facilitators for guiding our community partners:
🔹 Ms. Liza Lorine P. Mercader, CDS II (CDA) – for conducting the Post-Registration Orientation (PRO) for Newly Registered Cooperatives.
🔹 Ms. Ma. Rebecca E. Bagnol, Provincial Cooperative and Development Officer – for leading the Strategic Planning and Business Plan Formulation sessions.

Big congratulations to the participating cooperatives: CAMCOFICO (Campandan Community Fishermen Cooperative), BASUFICO (Bagong Silang United Fishermen Cooperative), and TEMWOCOCO (Talavera Empowered Women's Consumer Cooperative)

Equipped with new skills, clearer strategic visions, and practical business plans, these cooperatives are taking bold steps toward self-reliance and long-term economic growth. Together, we build stronger communities.

We extend our warmest congratulations to the Forestry intern batch from Mindanao State University – Maguindanao for successfully completing their 360-hour On-the-Job Training program!
During their Exit Presentation, these five promising future forestry professionals showcased the knowledge, skills, and practical experience they gained during their time with our Mine Environmental Protection and Enhancement Department (MEPED).

To support continuous improvement and workplace safety, HMC is currently conducting Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) sessions across the organization. As of July 30, 2026, this ongoing initiative has engaged 12 sections, involving both our dedicated employees and valued manpower service providers in key discussions:

IMS Awareness

Focus: Understanding the ISO Climate Change Amendment (2024) across ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.

Risk Awareness

Focus: Navigating Enterprise Risk Management, identifying risk categories, and implementing effective risk controls.

Mental Health Awareness

Hats off to another future Mining Engineer!

Mr. Ernesto A. Jayme IV from Caraga State University (CSU) recently completed his 320-hour On-the-Job Training program with us, capping off his journey with an exit presentation.

Throughout his internship, Ern rolled up his sleeves and gained invaluable hands-on site experience. He consistently showed great dedication, sharp technical skills, and a true commitment to responsible mining. He wrapped up his time on the team by sharing key insights and takeaways from his experience on-site.

Thank you for all your hard work and energy, Ernesto! We’re proud to have been part of your journey and can’t wait to see you conquer the industry. Best of luck as you finish your final stretch at CSU!
