It existed 73 years and geographically situated 22 kilometers from the division of Surigao del Norte. It can be reached either by land through jeepney, multicab, tricyle or single motorcycle. It has an area of about 9,324 square meters. Lower Libas Elementary School is staffed with seven (7) permanent teachers, and one (1) full-pledged Head Teacher, of the six (6) teachers there is one (1) Master
Teacher I, two (2) Teacher III, two (2) Teacher I and two (2) Teacher I. Seven (7) of them have earned units in Master of Arts (M.A). There are three (3) teachers ranging 21-30 years of teaching experience, two (2) also ranging 11-20 years of teaching experience, and three (3) has ranging 5-10 years of service. In terms of its physical facilities, Lower Libas Elementary School has four (4) existing buildings. One is the old Marcos Type which is utilized as the Kindergarten Room and Stock/Storeroom which is reportedly as condemned building. In another building, is the Principal’s Office and Instructional Classrooms for Grade IV and V. The ESF school building is the classrooms of the Grade I to III. One (1) classroom building, the Cariño Type is used by the Grade VI classes. The school is enclosed with semi-concrete perimeter fence which needs replacement. The main pathway was already cemented through fund raising. The school has a school stage donated by the LGU Barangay of Lower Libas through the Provincial SEF and the school has dental trough donated by LGU, the water is came from the Barangay source and has electric power connection. In the advent of technology, Lower Libas Elementary School is equipped with six (6) desktop computer, one (1) desktop virtual terminal, one (1) laptop and two (2) projector which came from DCP DepEd which is needed for the effective implementation of curricular, co-curricular and administrative functions, activities and processes geared towards providing basic quality education to all learners.
