Week 3 Task: Creating and Delivering a Speech
Objectives:
Upon completion of the task, you should be able to:
1. Write a persuasive speech
2. Deliver a persuasive speech effectively
3. Value the importance of knowing how to deliver a persuasive speech
Instructions:
1. Drawing from your STEM MOOC Camp experience, persuade non-MOOCers to engage in online professional development through MOOCs and MOOC Camps.
2. Use the speech template provided:

3. Use 3-5 references published within the last 3-5 years to support your points or arguments.
4. After creating your speech, familiarize yourself with its content and structure and prepare to video record yourself delivering it for 3-5 minutes in a still position. Ensure that there is ample lighting.
5. Practice several times. Wear corporate attire and do a full-body video recording so that your facilitators could also evaluate both your verbals and nonverbals. Refer to the speech rubric to achieve the best results.
6. Submit both written speech and video recordings through the Google drive link provided below.

Good day! Here's our MOOC camp task for Week 1 .

Task: Reflective Speaking with Peer Feedback

Target Skills: Speaking, Listening, Viewing, Writing

Instructions:
1. Video record yourself for 2-3 minutes describing your Week 1 MOOC camp experience. Describe the course unit, the activities, the Coursera platform, your MOOC professors from the University of Pennsylvania, and your first impressions. Apply Unit 1 language lesson which is about adjectives in your sentences.
2. Comment your video under this post.
3. Comment on at least 2-3 posts of your classmates. Post engaging comments that spark discussions. Avoid generic comments such as “Good job!”, “Nice!”, etc.
