Sultan Kudarat State University College of Law Holds Free Legal Aid Services for Tacurongnons

With the primary aim of providing equal access to justice for the poor, marginalized sector, and financially underprivileged clients, the Sultan Kudarat State University College of Law, spearheaded by Dean Atty. Lennie Ann C. Cerdana, LLM and Clinical Legal Education Program (CLEP) Director, Associate Dean Atty. Sandra S. Bonrustro, together with its faculty members, volunteer alumni lawyers, and the law student practitioners under CLEP II in partnership with the Department of Interior and Local Government—Tacurong City Field Office and the City Local Government Unit of Tacurong, conducted free legal aid services for the deserving clients of the said city.

The said activity was held on the 2nd floor of the Legislative Building as part of the city’s celebration of the 75th Araw ng Tacurong on August 3, 2026.

This initiative, likewise, served as an opportunity for the law student practitioners to provide limited and supervised legal services and to be able to actualize legal concepts and theories with hands-on practice for the well-deserving clients.
Among the legal services availed of were the drafting and notarization of simple affidavits and the face-to-face legal consultation with the alumni lawyers present during the activity.

The SKSU College of Law community remains committed to fostering the deep sense of public service and ethically grounded duty to its clientele and stakeholders.

The institution is grateful for all-out support from the various partners, especially from the DILG, headed by Atty. Ryan G. Alair, the City of Goodwill, through the Honorable City Mayor Lina O. Montilla and the Honorable Vice-Mayor Atty. Ralen Tabusares-Bernardo and the City Tourism Office in ensuring that the event was a complete success.
