UPV Tacloban College is the premier institution of higher learning in Region VIII. It is a regional unit of the University of the Philippines system

UPV Tacloban College was established as an answer to the need for quality education in Region VIII. In July 2, 1973 it was inaugurated as a regional unit of the UP System and in 1986 was placed under the administrative supervision of UP Visayas. UPV Tacloban College has thrived in meeting its goals and objectives to cater to the educational needs of the people of Eastern Visayas.
