Congratulations to the BS Economics Researchers for presenting their paper at the 2025 Multidisciplinary Conference on Enhancing Research Impact!

Held virtually via Zoom from April 25-27, 2025, by the International Congress of Innovation-Based Educators and Researchers Inc. in Zarraga, Iloilo, Philippines, this conference provided an esteemed platform for their paper titled "An Empirical Study on the Adoption of Cashless Payments Among Retailers in Tacloban City."

We would like to particularly acknowledge Ms. Jonalyn Araneta, a 4th-year BS Economics student, for presenting the research on behalf of her team, which also includes Ms. Maria Karen Gidal, Ms. Razel Oplegida, and their Thesis Adviser, Ms. Julie Ann Gadin.

This remarkable achievement is a testament to their dedication to research and excellence in academic presentation.

📸 IN PHOTOS: The EVSU Economics Society successfully held the first and second days of the ECONOMICS DAYS 2025 last February 17-18, 2025.

The ECON Days 2025 celebration kicked off with an online symposium on Comprehensive Land Use Planning followed by a General Assembly Meeting by the students. The second day highlighted the battles of strength and wit through physical games and academic competitions.

The celebration will be concluded with a fellowship and awarding ceremony on February 20, 2025.

The Department of Economics would like to congratulate the following BS Economics students who excelled during the first semester of academic year 2024-2025.

Top 10 students per year level will be awarded with certificates of academic excellence on February 20, 2025 during the Economics Days culminating activity. All students who are part of the Dean’s List will be awarded during the CAS Parangal on February 26, 2025.

The Department of Economics has successfully held Parents’ Orientation and Pinning Ceremony for the student interns of the BS Economics program last February 14, 2025 at the EVSU Graduate School Function Hall. The event formally prepared the interns for deployment to various government agencies. The ceremony underscored the indispensable role of the various stakeholders in supporting our students as they transition from academics to professional practice.

The student interns will be deployed on February 24, 2025. They are required to render 400 hours of internship service as part of their curriculum requirement.

The Department of Economics is pleased to announce that the Bachelor of Science in Economics program is Level III reaccredited and has successfully passed Phase 1 of the two-phase evaluation for Level IV Accreditation status during the 4th Survey Visit by the AACCUP Technical Review group in October 2024.

We thank the faculty and students for their dedication in meeting the accreditation requirements, contributing to this achievement. The official results are valid from November 1, 2024, to October 31, 2025.

We look forward to continuing our pursuit of academic excellence as we prepare for the next phases of accreditation.
