The Bagong Lipunan Building of Kapangian Central School has recently gained attention on social media because of its current condition. While the building has long been identified for replacement, it remains pending funding approval from the DepEd Central Office.
Despite this challenge, we are grateful that repair and improvement works officially commenced on June 1, 2026, through the Brigada Eskwela initiative, ensuring a safer and more conducive learning environment for our learners.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Local Government Unit of Tacloban City, through the Local School Board Chairman, Hon. Alfred S. Romualdez, for the support provided through the Brigada Support Fund. We also sincerely thank our Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Sherlita A. Palma, for her unwavering support to Kapangian Central School for approving the schoolβs plan for minor repairs utilizing the schoolβs MOOE, and for providing valuable technical assistance throughout the process.
Most importantly, we thank our dedicated parents, teachers, alumni, community volunteers, partner stakeholders, and all internal and external partners whose collective efforts continue to beautify and prepare our school for the opening of School Year 2026β2027.
Together, we remain hopeful and committed to building a better, safer, and brighter Kapangian Central School for every learner.

Good morning!
This is to clarify concerns circulating on social media regarding the implementation of Brigada Eskwela and Enrollment at Kapangian Central School.
Kapangian Central School remains committed to and compliant with the policies of the Department of Education (DepEd), particularly DepEd Order No. 19, s. 2008 (Implementation of the No Collection Policy in All Public Elementary and Secondary Schools) and DepEd Memorandum No. 41, s. 2024 (Reiteration of the No Collection Policy in Schools). These policies emphasize that no learner shall be denied enrollment due to non-payment of fees and that collections and contributions shall not be imposed upon learners, parents, or stakeholders.
In line with these policies, Kapangian Central School does not authorize, impose, or collect any Brigada Eskwela fee, contribution, donation, or payment from parents, guardians, or stakeholders.
The school highly appreciates and encourages volunteerism and community participation. Participation in Brigada Eskwela is voluntary and rooted in the spirit of bayanihan. Any assistance extended to the school is based solely on the willingness, capacity, and availability of our stakeholders.
No teacher, school personnel, or school representative is allowed to require service hours, collect fees, solicit contributions, or impose any form of mandatory support from parents or guardians. Stakeholders are encouraged to support the school only in ways they are willing and able to do.
