PNP SEIZES ₱3.8-M WORTH OF SMUGGLED CI******ES IN DAVAO ORIENTAL

Philippine National Police (PNP) continues to strengthen its campaign against smuggling after authorities confiscated an estimated ₱3.835 million worth of smuggled ci******es during an operation in Barangay Manikling, San Isidro, Davao Oriental on August 3, 2026.

The operation, carried out through the coordinated efforts of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), the San Isidro Municipal Police Station, and the Regional Intelligence Unit 11, led to the arrest of two Filipino suspects, aged 41 and 18. Authorities recovered 59 master cases of smuggled ci******es, which were turned over for proper documentation and disposition while the arrested individuals remain under police custody for the filing of appropriate charges.

The successful operation forms part of the PNP's intensified law enforcement efforts under its Focused Agenda, particularly through Enhanced Managing Police Operations, aimed at disrupting illegal activities that undermine legitimate trade and deprive the government of lawful revenues. Patuloy nating paiigtingin ang ating operasyon laban sa smuggling sa pakikipagtulungan ng iba pang law enforcement agencies," PGen Nartatez said.

PNP NABS EIGHT TOP 3 MOST WANTED PERSONS IN SUSTAINED OPERATIONS

The Philippine National Police (PNP) intensified its nationwide campaign against wanted persons, leading to the arrest of eight individuals listed as the No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 Most Wanted Persons in their respective Police Regional Offices during separate law enforcement operations on August 3, 2026.

Among those arrested were the No. 1 Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office 6, apprehended in Anilao, Iloilo for three counts of Qualified R**e of a Minor; the No. 1 Most Wanted Person of the National Capital Region, arrested in Manila for Murder; and the No. 1 Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office 10, captured in Bukidnon for five counts of Qualified R**e and two counts of Acts of Lasciviousness.

Police also arrested the No. 2 Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office 10 in Misamis Oriental for two counts of Statutory R**e and seven counts of Acts of Lasciviousness; the No. 2 Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region in Negros Occidental for four counts of Qualified R**e; and another No. 2 Most Wanted Person of the same region in Negros Oriental for two counts of Statutory Acts of Lasciviousness and Sexual Assault.

Meanwhile, separate manhunt operations also resulted in the arrest of the No. 3 Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office 6 in Capiz for two counts of R**e and five counts of Lascivious Conduct, and the No. 3 Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office 10 in Misamis Occidental for R**e and five counts of violation of Republic Act No. 7610.

All eight individuals were arrested by virtue of valid warrants of arrest and are now under the custody of the respective operating units pending appropriate legal proceedings.

The successful operations underscore the PNP's continuing commitment to locating and arresting wanted persons through intelligence-driven and coordinated law enforcement efforts under the Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) pillar of the PNP Focused Agenda.

PNP EXPOSES ONLINE CHILD EXPLOITATION SCHEME DISGUISED AS JOB OFFER

The Philippine National Police (PNP), under the leadership of Chief, PNP PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., exposed an alleged online child exploitation scheme disguised as a legitimate job opportunity following the arrest of a 29-year-old Filipino male, known by the alias “Kadyo,” during the implementation of a Warrant to Search, Seize, and Examine Computer Data (WSSECD) on July 28, 2026, in Mandurriao, Iloilo City. Authorities also recovered several child sexual abuse and exploitation materials (CSAEM) from the suspect’s electronic devices.

The arrest stemmed from an investigation conducted by operatives of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG), through the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 6 (RACU 6), after three victims, accompanied by their guardians, sought police assistance. Investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly lured the victims through a social media post offering an online job for “petite girls,” with promised earnings ranging from Php1,500.00 to Php2,000.00. Instead of legitimate work, the victims were allegedly instructed to produce sexually explicit videos and were later persuaded to meet the suspect for sexual encounters. The recorded child sexual abuse and exploitation materials were subsequently shared through messaging application group chats and sold to foreign buyers.

Acting on the complaint, RACU 6 immediately launched a cyber investigation, secured the necessary cyber warrant, and implemented the WSSECD. During the on-site forensic examination conducted by RACU 6 digital forensic examiners, authorities confirmed the presence of several CSAEM stored in the suspect’s gadgets, resulting in his immediate arrest. He is now facing charges for violations of Section 4(a), (b), (c), (d), and (r) of Republic Act No. 11930, otherwise known as the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM) Act.

“Children deserve to grow up free from exploitation, whether in the physical or digital world. The PNP will relentlessly pursue individuals who use technology to victimize the innocent. Hindi kami titigil hangga’t napapanagot ang mga taong nagsasamantala sa ating mga kabataan,” said PGEN Nartatez.

PNP ACCOUNTS FOR 4,830 FI****MS, NETS 10,366 IN JULY CRACKDOWN ON ILLEGAL FI****MS AND GAMBLING

The Philippine National Police (PNP) intensified its nationwide campaign against loose fi****ms and illegal gambling in July, resulting in the arrest of more than 10,000 individuals as part of its continuing efforts to strengthen peace and order and keep communities safe.

From July 1 to 31, 2026, police operations against loose fi****ms led to the arrest of 965 individuals for violations of Republic Act No. 10591. During the same period, the PNP accounted for 3,724 fi****ms through confiscation, surrender, recovery, and other lawful police actions, while another 1,106 fi****ms were voluntarily turned over by their owners for safekeeping.

The PNP likewise sustained its aggressive campaign against illegal gambling, conducting 4,631 operations nationwide that resulted in the arrest of 9,401 individuals. Authorities also confiscated gambling money and related paraphernalia with an estimated value of ₱3.2 million.

PNP'S JULY CRACKDOWN NETS 8,199 WANTED PERSONS, ₱387.1-M ILLEGAL DRUGS

The Philippine National Police (PNP) intensified its nationwide law enforcement efforts throughout July 1 to 31, 2026, conducting 5,526 anti-illegal drug operations and arresting 8,199 wanted persons in separate police operations across the country.

During the month-long campaign against illegal drugs, police units arrested 6,368 drug personalities, while three others died during legitimate police operations. The operations also resulted in the confiscation of illegal drugs with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱387,136,464.40.

Among the illegal drugs seized were 45,334 grams of suspected shabu, 82,036 grams of dried ma*****na leaves, 320,036 ma*****na plants, 336 grams of suspected co***ne, 29 grams of suspected ecstasy, and 2,123 grams of suspected kush ma*****na.

Meanwhile, the PNP's campaign against wanted persons led to the arrest of 8,199 fugitives, consisting of 2,352 Most Wanted Persons and 5,847 Other Wanted Persons, through sustained intelligence-driven operations conducted by police units nationwide.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) strengthened its campaign against smuggling in July, confiscating approximately ₱628 million worth of smuggled goods, counterfeit products, and other illegal articles in a sustained nationwide effort to protect consumers, support legitimate businesses, and uphold economic security.

From July 1 to 31, 2026, the PNP conducted 2,927 anti-smuggling operations, leading to the arrest of 656 individuals involved in various violations of existing laws against smuggling, intellectual property infringement, and related illegal trade.

The confiscated items, with an estimated value of ₱628 million, represent a significant blow to illicit trade networks that undermine legitimate commerce, deprive the government of lawful revenues, and expose consumers to unregulated and potentially unsafe products.
