๐๐๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐ง๐๐ ๐ฆ๐ฃ๐๐๐๐๐ฅ. DR. NADINE NAKAMURA is a licensed psychologist who earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The George Washington University. She is currently an associate professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of La Verne. Dr. Nakamuraโs research focuses broadly on multiculturalism and intersectionality with emphasis on understanding the experiences of LGBTQ people of color, LGBTQ immigrants and asylum seekers, as well as LGBTQ international issues. She has published over 35 peer reviewed articles and book chapters, as well as the book LGBTQ Mental Health: International Perspectives and Experiences. Her work has earned her recognition in the form of various awards, including the APA Committee on Sexual Orientation and Gender Diversity Outstanding Achievement Award in 2020. She was co-chair of the APA Task Force for Revising the Professional Practice Guidelines for Working with Sexual Minority Clients and is currently the APA representative to the International Psychology Network for Le***an, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Intersex Issues. She is also active in the Asian American Psychological Association where she is serving as co-chair of the AAPA Leadership Fellows Program.

This webinar aims to explore the dynamics and challenges of love, dating, and relationships among LGBTQ Filipinos. Speakers Prof. Niel Kintanar and Dr. Ver Reyes of the Psychological Association of the Philippines LGBT Special Interest Group will share insights from their research on relationship satisfaction and conflict resolution in le***an and gay relationships and dating scripts of Filipino trans women, and they will be joined by reactor Dr. Anna Tuazon of the UP Diliman Department of Psychology to discuss how we can support the LGBTQ people in our lives as they navigate the challenges of love, dating, and relationships. The webinar will end with an open forum to discuss questions and comments from the audience.

More than a year into the pandemic and things are not getting any better especially for our q***r siblings. For some q***r people, they have no choice but to live with their families that may not be as understanding and accepting.
In our efforts to celebrate and stand in solidarity with our community amid the uncertainty, we are bringing back Pride Letters: ๐ a month-long open letter campaign to let our q***r siblings know that despite the isolation, we are not alone. โ

Through an open letter ๐ , let our q***r siblings know that they will always have a safe space, a home, and a family. The letters can be addressed to all q***r people, q***r youth, closeted q***rs, trans people, any other group within the community, and even their families and friends. ๐

The series features conversations that explore how we live gender and how we engage in and with discourses around gender.
Revolving around how and why gender and womenโs issues continue to be relevant today, the launching episode of the Living Gender Conversation Series is part of UP Taclobanโs celebration of the 2021 National Womenโs Month of March, with the theme โPanlimbasog, โDay: Katungod han Kababayin-an, Kaupayan han Katilingban.โ
