📣 || RVPIS STUDENT ATHLETES SHINE AT DISTRICT MEET 2026 ||

Tacloban City, Leyte — Student athletes of RVPIS showcased determination, skill, and sportsmanship as they competed in the District Meet 2026, held on August 21–22, 2026.

The two-day district-level competition brought together athletes from different schools in DLC 2, with RVPIS representatives demonstrating their abilities across individual and team sports.

In Elementary Badminton, the RVPIS girls’ team delivered strong performances, with Partosa earning silver in Single A, Pingol capturing gold in Single B, and the doubles tandem of Quiño and Calubid securing bronze, with Mrs. Orpha R. Pingol as their coach.

The elementary boys likewise made their mark, with Kiel Steffan Celis winning gold in Single A, Xyvien Jazz M. Petilla taking silver in Single B, and Wilbright O. Pedrosa and Dylan Ezekiel Calderon earning bronze in Doubles, coached by Ms. Kathlia L. Abella.

In Secondary Badminton, Jasmine N. Lomuntad and Jean P. Tacuyo each earned bronze in Girls’ Single A and Single B, respectively, while Roselyn C. Cajefe and Joanna Tahum secured bronze in Doubles.
In the boys’ division, Kenth Jerald F. Letran won bronze in Single A, William O. Pedrosa secured gold in Single B, and Cris Ivan Bernardo and Herald Kent M. Petilla finished 4th place in Doubles, with Mr. Marvin Magadan serving as coach.

Meanwhile, the Elementary Chess team delivered notable results, with Justine Kurt A. Galolo and Reyuan Joven A. Amistoso winning gold in Boys’ Board 1 and Board 2, respectively, while Irish Riane B. De Guzman earned bronze in Girls’ Board 1 and Daniella Kate P. Raagas secured silver in Girls’ Board 2, coached by Ms. Rhoda Maine Octaviano.
In Secondary Chess, Eralian G. De Dios and Kyralian G. De Dios each secured bronze in Boys’ Board 1 and Board 2, respectively, while Alexa Jane A. Espiritu captured gold in Girls’ Board 1 and Gwen Marie B. Pacuri earned silver in Girls’ Board 2, with Ms. Shiela Mae Cinco as their coach.
In Elementary Basketball 5x5, the RVPIS Gray Sharks fought their way to a silver-medal finish, coached by Mrs. Marilou Monteroso.

The Secondary Basketball teams delivered two gold-medal finishes, with the Gray Sharks claiming gold in the 5x5 category under Ms. Jackie-Ann Galvez and another gold in the 3x3 category under Mrs. Abigail Cabilti.

In Elementary Volleyball, both the boys’ and girls’ teams displayed teamwork and perseverance, with each earning silver under coaches Ms. Kimberly Ganados and Ms. Lornialyn Hingabay, respectively.

The Secondary Volleyball teams likewise secured silver in both divisions, with the boys’ team coached by Ms. Angelique Mae Firman and assistant coach Mrs. Mary Ann Cagara, while the girls’ team was led by Ms. Mary Flor Ramirez and assistant coach Mrs. Arlene Capaycapay.

The achievements of the RVPIS student athletes reflect their talent, dedication, discipline, teamwork, and commitment to proudly representing their school.

📣 || GRADES 4-6 LEARNERS JOIN ANTI-RABIES AND RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP ORIENTATION ||

Cabalawan, Tacloban City — Learners from Grades 4 to 6 gathered to participate in an orientation on rabies prevention and responsible pet ownership, held today, August 10, at the Covered Courts of RVPIS in Cabalawan, Tacloban City.

Personnel from the City Veterinary Office of Tacloban City spearheaded the activity, providing the learners with essential information on the key provisions of the Anti-Rabies Act of 2007 and City Ordinance No. 2006-9-264.

The orientation also highlighted the importance of responsible pet ownership, including proper care and management of pets, as well as measures to prevent rabies and other risks associated with animal bites.

Through the activity, the learners were encouraged to become informed and responsible pet owners and to help promote a safer and healthier community for both people and animals.

📣 || STUDENTS ENGAGE IN KHAN ACADEMY SESSIONS AT ICT LABORATORY ||

Cabalawan, Tacloban City - Students of Ridge View Park Integrated School actively participated in the ongoing implementation of the Khan Academy Program through technology-assisted learning sessions conducted at the school's ICT Laboratory, where they utilized the Khan Academy platform to strengthen their knowledge and skills in Mathematics and Science.

During the sessions, students completed interactive lessons and practice exercises using digital learning tools under the guidance of the school's Khan Academy Implementers. The platform enabled learners to work at their own pace while allowing teachers to monitor individual progress and provide timely instructional support based on learners' performance.

The continued implementation of the program reflects the school's commitment to integrating innovative teaching strategies that promote learner engagement, digital literacy, and academic excellence. Through the collaborative efforts of school leaders, teachers, and learners, RVPIS continues to support the Department of Education's goal of delivering quality, inclusive, and technology-enabled education.

📣 ||RVPIS HOLDS KHAN ACADEMY IMPLEMENTATION MEETING ||

Cabalawan, Tacloban City - To strengthen the implementation of the Khan Academy Program and ensure school readiness for School Year 2026–2027, Ridge View Park Integrated School conducted a meeting with its Khan Academy Implementers, together with the School Principal, Mr. Danilo A. Quejada and the School Khan Academy Coordinator, Mrs. Aiselle Jasen A. Macapugas, on August 5, 2026, at the Principal's Office of RVPIS, Brgy. 97 Cabalawan, Tacloban City.

The meeting focused on the school's implementation status, readiness assessment, monitoring requirements, and advocacy initiatives based on the Khan Academy Implementation Monitoring Tool/Checklist. Discussions also covered the validation of teacher implementers, school and teacher readiness, stakeholder support, and strategies to ensure the effective integration of Khan Academy into classroom instruction.

The activity reaffirmed the school's commitment to the Department of Education's digital learning initiatives by fostering collaboration among school leaders and teacher-implementers in delivering quality, technology-enhanced education for all learners.

📣 || SELECTED RVPIS TEACHERS ATTEND KHAN ACADEMY YEAR 2 IMPLEMENTATION ORIENTATION ||

As part of the Department of Education's continued efforts to strengthen digital learning, selected teachers from Ridge View Park Integrated School participated in the orientation on the Year 2 Implementation of the ADB-Supported Digital Learning and Infrastructure Support Project in Partnership with Khan Academy Philippines, held on July 18, 2026 in Manila, Philippines.

The activity was attended by Mr. Marvin C. Magadan, Ms. Sheila Mae Cinco, and Mr. Archibal Orbeta who represented the school during the orientation.

The activity provided participants with updates on the project's implementation for School Year 2026–2027, including the submission of the Khan Implementing Schedule, implementation guidelines, and the monitoring and reporting requirements. Teachers were also oriented on the integration of Khan Academy's digital learning platform to enhance the teaching of Mathematics and Science through technology-supported instruction.

The orientation equipped participating teachers with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively implement the program, ensuring that learners benefit from engaging, data-informed, and technology-enhanced learning experiences.

📣 || RVPIS SUCCESSFULLY HOLDS SCHOOL INTRAMURALS 2026 ||

Cabalawan, Tacloban City – Learners from Kindergarten to Junior High School demonstrated unity, teamwork, creativity, and athletic excellence as the school successfully celebrated its 2026 School Intramurals through a series of sports competitions, performances, and team-building activities held on July 25–26, 2026.

The two-day event officially commenced with a vibrant parade featuring the participating teams, followed by spirited team yells that highlighted the enthusiasm, creativity, and unity of each delegation.

The opening program was further enlivened by captivating playground demonstrations presented by learners from Kindergarten to Grade 6 and Junior High School. Through synchronized routines inspired by themes such as the Moon, Wind, and other elements, the students showcased their creativity, coordination, and artistic talents, earning the admiration of the audience.

In the afternoon, participants competed in the Flag Raising Contest before the different sporting events officially began. Student-athletes displayed determination, discipline, and teamwork as they competed in various events, including volleyball, basketball, chess, and other games. The competitions continued on the second day, fostering healthy competition and camaraderie among the participants.

One of the highlights of the celebration was the Mr. and Ms. Intramurals 2026 competition, where candidates confidently represented their respective teams, exemplifying poise, confidence, and school pride.

More than a celebration of athleticism, the 2026 School Intramurals served as a venue for learners to strengthen friendships, discover their talents, and uphold the values of sportsmanship, unity, and excellence, making the event a memorable experience for the entire school community.
