Today, as I see graduates stepping into their future, students moving confidently to their next chapter, and others celebrated for their hard work, I am reminded that these ceremonies are not just about the students' achievements; they are also a testament to the enduring spirit of every teacher. We are the constant gardeners, tending to young minds, adapting to storms and droughts, always believing that with care, patience, and unwavering effort, every seed will eventually blossom. This day, more than any other, reaffirms why we do what we do, cementing our resolve to continue shaping futures, one resilient step at a time.

Three years ago, we opened our doors together with a simple yet powerful dream: TO LIGHT UP THE PATH OF LEARNING FOR EVERY CHILD AT PALANOG RESETTLEMENT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (PRES). Today, as we mark this closing milestone, our hearts are overflowing not with sadness, but with profound gratitude and joy for all we have built side by side.

For 36 months, SAI has been more than just a program – you have been mentors who stayed late to explain a lesson, friends who celebrated every small victory, and pillars of support who never let our learners feel alone in their journey. You’ve turned classrooms into spaces of wonder, where curiosity is nurtured and potential is unlocked. From teaching basic literacy to inspiring dreams of future careers, from sharing meals to building lasting bonds – every moment you’ve invested has left an indelible mark on hundreds of young lives here in Barangay 12 Palanog and Brgy. 37 - A Palanog, Tacloban City.

To each volunteer, staff member, and donor of SAI: your selflessness has shown our learners that there are people in this world who truly care, who believe in their worth, and who are willing to invest in their future. You’ve not only taught subjects from books – you’ve taught courage, kindness, and the value of giving back.

To our PRES learners: though this chapter with SAI is closing, the knowledge you’ve gained and the confidence you’ve built will carry you forward always. You are the living proof of what happens when compassion meets education – and you will be the ones to continue spreading this light in your families and communities.
