STATEMENT ON MINING IN HOMONHON ISLAND

Dear Beloved People of God, Government Leaders and Concerned Agencies:

We are very much disturbed by the escalated mining operations in our beloved historical island of Homonhon.

At present, there are four (4) active mining companies operating in the island. Their immediate and negative effects on the communities and the natural environment are very alarming.

We call on our government leaders and concerned agencies to take action on this matter.
