'BUTETE' CLAIMS THREE LIVES IN MASBATE

The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources - Region 5 (BFAR) warned the public on Tuesday not to consume certain types of fishes. According to the bureau, three people in Cawayan, Masbate died from eating a pufferfish, locally known as "butete," on March 21.

The BFAR added that pufferfish poison can lead to death, and has no known antidote yet.
