RTREF Nursing and Physical Therapy Students Attend Pacific Partnership 2026 Symposium

TACLOBAN CITY — Earlier today, Nursing and Physical Therapy students of the Remedios T. Romualdez Educational Foundation (RTREF) actively participated in an educational symposium conducted as part of Pacific Partnership 2026.

The symposium provided students with an opportunity to enhance their knowledge and gain practical insights from discussions covering important topics relevant to their respective health professions.

For the Nursing students, the sessions focused on diabetes, wound care, foot care, burns, basic infection control, basic emergency room trauma assessment, and trauma triage, including principles related to the Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC). These topics highlighted the importance of timely assessment, appropriate intervention, patient safety, and effective clinical decision-making in various healthcare situations.

Meanwhile, the Physical Therapy students attended sessions on stroke rehabilitation, lumbar disc injuries, pain management, diet, exercise, and the history and development of the Physical Therapy profession. The discussions emphasized the role of rehabilitation, healthy lifestyle practices, and evidence-informed approaches in promoting functional recovery and improving patients' quality of life.

Throughout the symposium, the students demonstrated enthusiasm, attentiveness, and active engagement in every topic presented. Their participation reflected their commitment to continuously expanding their knowledge beyond the classroom and preparing themselves for future responsibilities as healthcare professionals.

The Pacific Partnership 2026 symposium serves as another valuable learning experience for RTREF students, strengthening the connection between academic learning and practical healthcare applications.

Through initiatives such as this, RTREF continues to provide its students with meaningful opportunities to learn from diverse healthcare perspectives and develop the competence, confidence, and professional values needed to serve their communities.
