Department of Physical Therapy Receives CHED Gawad Parangal

Earlier today, June 3, 2026, the Department of Physical Therapy of the RTR Educational Foundation was honored with the Gawad Parangal from the Regional Office VIII of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in recognition of its distinction as the Top 1 Performing Physical Therapy School in the June 2025 Physical Therapists Licensure Examination (PTLE).

Also recognized during the awarding ceremony were the department’s six (6) topnotchers who demonstrated outstanding performance in the same licensure examination, further reflecting the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and professional preparation.

In addition, the institution’s College of Medical Technology and College of Nursing received their respective recognitions from CHED, alongside their distinguished board topnotchers, highlighting the strong performance of the health sciences programs of the RTR Educational Foundation.

The award for the Department of Physical Therapy was received by Gwynth Kaye V. Sudario, Head of the Department of Physical Therapy.

The Gawad Parangal was conferred as part of the celebration of the founding anniversary of the Commission on Higher Education, recognizing institutions and individuals who have demonstrated exemplary achievements in higher education and professional licensure examinations.

The countless hours spent studying, practicing skills, completing clinical duties, and pushing through challenges have all prepared you for this milestone. Trust in everything you have learned. Trust in the effort you have given. Most importantly, trust in yourselves.💪

The Third-Year RTR Physical Therapy students demonstrated their commitment to community engagement and health promotion through the conduct of the seminar, “Bagà, Bága Kumusta Ka: A Seminar on Lung Health and Physical Therapy.”

The activity aimed to enhance public awareness of pulmonary health, emphasize the role of physical therapy in the prevention and management of respiratory conditions, and empower community members with evidence-based knowledge and practices that support optimal lung function and overall well-being.
