This study explores how political patronage and network politics shape the selection process of beneficiaries in the TUPAD cash-for-work program. It examines the role of local political relationships, influence, and informal networks in determining access to government assistance, shedding light on issues of fairness, transparency, and accountability in public service distribution.

This study explores the level of awareness, understanding, and perceptions of the youth regarding initiative and referendum as mechanisms of post-electoral participation. It highlights how these democratic processes serve as avenues for continued civic engagement beyond voting, while also identifying gaps in knowledge and the factors influencing youth participation at the barangay level.

This study explores the long-term environmental, social, and economic impacts of mining activities on Homonhon Island, with a critical focus on evaluating the effectiveness of Philippine Mining Act of 1995. Using a multi-perspective approach, the research examines insights from local communities, stakeholders, and policy frameworks to assess whether existing regulations adequately address sustainability, environmental protection, and community welfare.

The authors also actively participated in the 4th Regional Aradman Multidisciplinary Research Conference held at Eastern Visayas State University - Main Campus, showcasing their research initiatives and academic excellence.

Sa gitna ng patuloy na pagtaas ng presyo ng langis sa bansa, nakiisa ang APSS sa inisyatibang “Kusinang Bayan Para Sa Mga Tsuper” kasama ang Kabataan Partylist Metro Tacloban, Tulong Kabataan Metro Tacloban, UP Runggi, UP SC, at PSPR, noong Abril 19, 2026 sa Robinsons Marasbaras Terminal, bilang pagpapakita ng pakikiisa at suporta sa mga jeepney driver na labis na apektado ng krisis sa kanilang kabuhayan.

Dalawang buwan na nang magsimula ang kalbaryo ng mga tsuper, komyuter, at iba pang nasa laylayan ng ekonomiya. Ito ay dala ng big time oil price hike dahil sa imperyalistang pang-gigiyera ng US-Israel sa Iran. Tumaas na din ang presyo ng bilihin habang nananatiling mababa ang minimum wage. Sa kabila ng patuloy na paghihirap ng mga mamamayang Pilipino, hindi pa rin naibabasura ang Oil Deregulation Law upang makontrol ang presyo ng petrolyo.

Kasama ang Association of Political Science Students sa mga nagpalaganap ng impormasyon ukol sa krisis at nagsulong ng inisyatiba para sa laban ng mga tsuper. Sa pangunguna ni Pres. Abby Fortin, iilan sa mga tsuper at komyuter ang nagbahagi ng kanilang saloobin ukol sa oil price hike na patuloy na nagpapabigat sa kani-kanilang mga byahe.

Sa kasalukuyang krisis na kinakaharap ng Pilipinas, ang ating mga tsuper ang lubos na apektado; at hindi lamang ito laban ng mga tsuper, kundi kasama ang mga komyuter. Patuloy na maninindigan at boboses ang mga kabataan para sa kapakanan ng mga tsuper, sapagkat ang simpleng pakikiisa ay maaaring maging daan upang mas mapalakas ang panawagan para sa makatarungang solusyon sa patuloy na pagtaas ng presyo ng langis at sa pagprotekta sa kabuhayan ng sektor ng transportasyon.

KUSINANG BAYAN CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS!

Sa mga nagdaang araw, patuloy ang hinaing ng mga tsuper sa Tacloban at karatig na munisipalidad dahil sa patuloy na pagtaas ng presyo ng langis. Marami sa kanila ang halos wala na kinikita, at ang ilan ay napipilitang magtipid upang may maiuwi lamang sa kanilang mga pamilya.

Ayon sa datos na nakalap ng Tulong Kabataan, umaabot na lamang sa humigit-kumulang ₱300 ang naiuuwi ng isang tsuper sa isang araw nang pamamasada, malayo kumpara sa kanilang kinikita noon.

Dahil dito maglulunsad ang Tulong Kabataan - Metro Tacloban kasama ang ibang organisasyon ng isang community kitchen para sa mga tsuper sa Robinsons Terminal, Marasbaras. Layunin nitong makapaghatid ng mainit na pagkain sa ating mga drayber.

Kaugnay nito inaanyayahan namin ang lahat ng kabataan na gusto sumama at maging bahagi nito. Ang bagay na ito ay hindi lamang tulong, kundi isang anyo ng pakikiisa at nating mga komyuter sa laban ng mga tsuper.

Sa mga nais magpaabot ng donasyon, bukas pa rin ang aming donation channels.

This study explores how disability governance is carried out under the Universal Health Care Act of 2019, focusing on the lived experiences of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Tacloban City. It examines the accessibility, inclusivity, and effectiveness of health services provided to PWDs, highlighting gaps between policy and actual implementation at the local level.

It can be recalled that the authors previously presented related studies at the Biennial International Conference on Politics and Democracy in Southeast Asia 2025, as well as at the 3rd Nemesio Prudente International Research Conference, further highlighting the depth and continuity of their research work.

This study examines the level of machine literacy among farmers within the Lateral East A Irrigators Association, focusing on how the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Mechanization and Extension programs are currently implemented. It highlights the challenges and opportunities faced by farmers in adapting to modern agricultural technologies, as well as the role of government support in improving productivity and sustainability in the agricultural sector.

This study was also presented at the 2026 Undergraduate Research Pageant, held in celebration of the 105th Founding Anniversary of Leyte Normal University, where it was showcased alongside outstanding undergraduate research contributions.
