The Marasbaras National High School Family proudly extends its warmest congratulations to Atty. Marl Jeric Robillos on his well-deserved promotion as Education Program Specialist II (EPS II) at the SDO-Tacloban City

From January to September 2026, Atty. Marl became a valued member of the MNHS family as an Aralin Panlipunan teacher. During his time with us, he served as the adviser of the MNHS Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) and played an important role in nurturing our students’ leadership skills and potential.

As SSLG Adviser, he conducted and facilitated various seminars, leadership trainings, and student development activities, empowering learners to become more responsible, confident, and effective young leaders. His guidance and commitment have left a meaningful mark on the students he served.

As you begin this new chapter as an EPS, may you continue to inspire, lead, and serve with the same dedication and passion you shared with our school.

With immense pride and gratitude, Marasbaras National High School congratulates Fiel Trisha M. Lumtong for securing 3rd Place in Pagwawasto at Pag-uulo ng Balita during the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) held on September 10–12, 2026, at STEFTI, Abucay.

This outstanding achievement also makes Fiel a Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) Qualifier in Biliran.

MNHS Athletes Score Victories at the 2026 DLC 9 District Meet

August 21, 2026-Marasbaras National High School (MNHS) student-athletes proudly showcased their talent, determination, and sportsmanship during the 2026 DLC 9 District Meet held on August 21, 2026, at various playing venues within the district. The event officially opened with a vibrant Opening Program at the MNHS Covered Court, graced by the presence of Dr. Nilo S. Eder, Public Schools District Supervisor of DLC 9, together with school heads, coaches, athletes, teachers, and supporters.

The district-wide sporting event brought together student-athletes from different schools in DLC 9, including Marasbaras Elementary School, V&G Elementary School, Caibaan Elementary School, Summit Integrated Learning Academy, Inc., Marasbaras National High School, V&G National High School and Asian Development Foundation College-HS

Throughout the competition, MNHS athletes delivered commendable performances in their respective sporting events, earning victories and demonstrating their skills, discipline, teamwork, and determination. Their achievements became a source of pride for the entire MNHS community and reflected the dedication they put into their training and preparation.

The winners and qualified athletes from the district meet will advance to the 2026 City Meet on September 4-6, 2026 at Leyte National High School, giving them another opportunity to showcase their skills and compete at a higher level.

MNHS extends its heartfelt congratulations to all its student-athletes and coaches for their hard work and dedication. The school also thanks the school administration, teachers, parents, officials, volunteers, and supporters who contributed to the success of the event.

Marasbaras National High School Holds Parents’ Orientation on Project CARE Wellness and Nutrition Program

MNHS conducted its Parents’ Orientation on the Wellness Program through Project CARE (Create Access, Resilience, and Equity) Nutrition on July 24, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. at the MNHS Covered Court. The activity was spearheaded by the TLE Department with the support of the different department heads, in line with the school’s continuing advocacy for learner health, safety, and well-being.

The orientation featured meaningful discussions on key health and nutrition topics. Mrs. Shemaine Macaraig, School Clinic-in-Charge discussed proper hygiene in relation to the SBM-WINS Program, while Mrs. Odessa Torlao, TLE Department Head shared insights on Gulayan sa Tahanan. Mrs. Ma. Paz Brigida Tabarnero, school wellness and also delivered a short talk on proper nutrition and emphasized the important role of parents in promoting healthy nutrition among learners.

The activity was successfully realized through the collaborative efforts of the TLE teachers, whose teamwork and dedication contributed to the smooth conduct of the program. The school also expressed its sincere appreciation to the external stakeholder Mr. Nave M. Camino, vlogger and business entrepreneur, for donating a handheld metal detector, a valuable contribution to the school’s safety and security measures.

In addition, Marasbaras NHS recognized the support of its internal stakeholders, Mrs. Gregelina Basallage, Ms. Lourdes Filipina Uycoque, Mrs. Odessa Torlao, and Mrs. Ma. Paz Brigida Tabarnero, whose generosity helped strengthen the success of the activity. After the orientation, nutritious meals were distributed to the beneficiaries as part of the program.

Through this initiative, Marasbaras National High School reaffirmed its commitment to fostering strong partnerships among parents, teachers, and stakeholders in promoting wellness, proper nutrition, and holistic learner development.

TCPO Empowers Marasbaras National High School Students in Digital Safety and Youth Symposium

TACLOBAN CITY β€” Marasbaras National High School (MNHS) served as the recipient institution for the "Digital Safety and Youth Empowerment Symposium: Protect, Prevent, Participate," held on July 22, 2026, at 3:00 PM. Initiated by the MNHS-SSLG through the efforts of SSLG Adviser Atty. Marl Jeric A. Robillos, the event was organized by the Tacloban City Police Office (TCPO) under the leadership of Acting City Director PCOL Marben M. Ordonia, forming part of the ongoing 31st Police Community Relations Month celebration.

The program anchors on the National Theme: "Sa Bagong Pilipinas, Ugnayang Pulis at Mamamayan: Tapat, Maaasahan, at Nararamdaman ng Bayan".

The event started with an invocation led by PCpl Noah B. CaΓ±ete, followed by welcome remarks delivered by PMAJ Charmaine A. Cartalla. Master of Ceremonies PCpl Kimberly C. Flores guided the afternoon's comprehensive lineup for key lectures on Youth Protection and Awareness

Student participants received vital orientations focusing on online security, legal rights, and national security threats:
βœ…Anti-Bullying Laws: PCpl Marco Antonio Cordero (FJGAD PNCO, CCADU) delivered a discussion on Republic Act No. 10627, otherwise known as the "Anti-Bullying Act of 2013".

βœ…Security and Extremism Awareness: PCpl Ma Leilanhie S. Amascual conducted an orientation for the youth and students regarding Terrorist Recruitment (OYSTER) and Nihilistic Violent Extremism (NVE).

βœ…Digital Protection: PCMS Theresa A Marabe addressed the pressing dangers of Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC).

Adding vibrancy to the afternoon, the Pulis Waraynon Mananayaw delivered a special cultural intermission performance.

Dr. Larry P PeΓ±alosa, School Principal IV, delivered a heartfelt message of gratitude to the police force.

The symposium ended with a collective photo opportunity of the TCPO resource persons, MNHS Department Heads, admin and staff and MNHS-SSLG. The traditional "Palugaw ng Pulis" community feeding activity made the event more enjoyable as it successfully reinforced proactive collaboration between law enforcement and the educational sector, ensuring that the student participants are well-equipped, informed, and safeguarded against modern societal and digital threats.

June 24, 2026- Marasbaras National High School (MNHS) continues to strengthen its
commitment to learner safety and school security through the implementation of enhanced security measures within the school premises.

Through the leadership of Mr. Larry P. PeΓ±alosa, School Principal, the initiative of Mr. Ruel Jacob A. Tiu, Faculty Club President and the guidance and support of the department heads, faculty and admin staff, this activity marks the school’s continuing efforts to establish stronger safety programs and preventive measures.

Today, the school carried out security initiatives focused on maintaining peace, order, and safety among learners, teaching and non-teaching personnel, and visitors. The activity involved strengthened monitoring and coordination efforts to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment for everyone.

Further reinforcing the school’s security measures was the presence of the Tacloban City Police Station 1, which provided police visibility and support during the activity. The school administration expresses its sincere appreciation to the police personnel for their valuable assistance and continued partnership in promoting safety and security within the school community.

MNHS emphasizes that these security efforts are not limited to today’s implementation. The school assures the public that these measures will be continuously sustained and enhanced through regular monitoring, collaboration with stakeholders, and strengthened partnerships with concerned agencies.

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM
MARASBARAS NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

Good day, MNHS family.
In response to the tragic shooting incident that took place this morning at San Jose National High School, which led to loss of lives, Marasbaras National High School will intensify and strictly implement enhanced security measures to safeguard all learners, faculty, staff, and visitors effective tomorrow, June 23, 2026.

Effective immediately:
1. Inspection of bags and personal belongings will be conducted by the school guard, or any authorized personnel before entry. Toy guns, sharp objects, and other items that may pose as a threat to safety are strictly prohibited inside the school premises.
2. All parents, guardians, and visitors entering the school premises must sign the visitor's logbook upon entry. A visitor's pass will be issued upon presentation of any valid ID to the authorized personnel.
3. Visitors are requested to cooperate with all security protocols and instructions from school personnel.

These measures are implemented with the sole purpose of protecting our school community and ensuring a safe learning environment for all.
We humbly ask for your understanding, support, and full cooperation as we work hand in hand to prioritize the safety and well-being of our learners.
