𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | LC-COE conducts First Pinning Ceremony
To honor the new generation of future educators, Leyte Colleges–College of Education (LC-COE) held its First Pinning Ceremony on January 9, 2026, at the LC Activity Center, San Jose Campus.
The conduct of the Pinning Ceremony marked a groundbreaking milestone for the institution, as it was the very first pinning ceremony for teacher interns since the establishment of the College of Education.
This historic event was spearheaded by the officers of the intern students, in collaboration with the faculty of the College of Education.
The highlight moments of the ceremony included the solemn procession of the interns, faculty members, Dr. Bernardita Gomez-Arceño, Dean of the College of Education; Dr. Josefa Yasmine A. Moriel, Head of Operations and Academics; and the guest speaker, Mr. Pompeyo M. Cabalona, Jr., as they lined up and formally entered the venue.
This was immediately followed by the preliminary program and a warm welcome message delivered by Dr. Moriel.
Mr. Cabalona then delivered an inspiring message, sharing his journey and struggles as a student before achieving success. His heartfelt speech moved the audience, bringing tears to the eyes of many attendees.
Afterward, Jhon Nathaniel S. Macase, Vice President of the Intern Officers, spearheaded the reading of the Intern Pledge, solemnly affirming the interns’ commitment to the teaching profession and to the responsibilities entrusted to them.
The program reached its peak as Dr. Arceño, assisted by Secondary Principal Ms. Erika P. Estola and SIPP Coordinator Mrs. Ma. Theresa C. Adel, led the Pinning Ceremony. Students, accompanied by their parents or guardians, stood on stage as the pins were carefully placed on their uniforms—proud smiles evident on every face.
Gerald J. Orosa, Intern President, then delivered his heartfelt thanksgiving speech, once again bringing many interns to tears.
The most touching moment of the program followed with the Tribute Song. While singing “The Climb,” the interns walked toward their parents, embracing them amid tears of joy, acknowledging the sacrifices made and realizing that graduation was now within reach.
Dr. Arceño concluded the program with her closing remarks, emphasizing that since the establishment of the institution, this was the first time a Pinning Ceremony had been conducted.
The event officially ended with a photo opportunity and a recessional, as the guest speaker, dean, and faculty members slowly exited the venue. Though the ceremony had concluded, it left behind a lasting memory—one that will forever be written in the history of Leyte Colleges.
