𝗜𝗦𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗔𝗔𝗦 𝗔𝗧 𝗠𝗔𝗣𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗣𝗨𝗣𝗨𝗚𝗔𝗬 𝗦𝗔 𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗢!

Noong Mayo 10, 1897, si Andrés Bonifacio at ang kanyang kapatid na si Procopio Bonifacio ay dinala sa kabundukan ng Maragondon, Cavite matapos hatulan ng kamatayan sa kasong sedisyon at pagtataksil laban sa rebolusyonaryong pamahalaan. Ayon sa mga tala ng kasaysayan, una silang dapat ipapatapon, ngunit kalaunan ay ipinag-utos ang kanilang pagbitay.

Habang nasa bundok ng Buntis, iniulat na si Procopio ay agad pinaslang, samantalang si Andres na may mga sugat at hirap makalakad dahil sa naunang pananakit at pagkakadakip ay pinagbabaril at pinagtataga hanggang sa bawian ng buhay. Matapos ang insidente, pinaniniwalaang inilibing sila sa isang mababaw na hukay sa kabundukan, ngunit hanggang sa kasalukuyan ay hindi kailanman natagpuan o natukoy nang tiyak ang kanilang mga labi.

Ang pagpaslang kay Bonifacio ay nananatiling isa sa pinakamabigat at pinakamalungkot na kabanata ng Himagsikang Pilipino. Sa halip na mamatay sa kamay ng mga mananakop, ang Supremo ng Katipunan ay nasawi sa gitna ng hidwaan ng kapwa rebolusyonaryo. Hanggang ngayon, patuloy na pinag-aaralan at pinagninilayan ng mga historyador ang mga pangyayaring nagdala sa kanyang trahedya, isang paalala na maging sa laban para sa kalayaan, maaari ring manaig ang pagkakahati-hati at politika.
