In celebration of Filipino Food Month 2026, the Eastern Visayas State University β Hospitality and Tourism Management Department proudly participated the launching of the Secret Kitchens of Samar Food Crawl β Flavors of Catbalogan, last April 30, 2026 at FoodSpark, Capitol Grounds, Catbalogan City! π
Representing EVSU-HTMD were our very own Chef Mark Reynan Sabayan and Chef Harold Yangao, with other culinary specialists from Higher Education Institutions across the region, including ACLC, Leyte Normal University, and ABE.
It is also a proud moment worth noting that Chef Mark is not just a participant but also a trainer for many of the Kitchen Heroes supporting the Secret Kitchens of Samar! His commitment to teaching cooking extends beyond the classroom and into the core of this regional culinary movement.
With the support from the Department of Tourism Regional Office VIII and the Provincial Government of Samar, this milestone event introduced Catbaloganβs curated food crawl β a flavorful route through local markets, much-loved street grub, and distinctive dining places that narrate Samar through its tastes.
