Hugs That Heal: Sharing Comfort on Campusโจโ๏ธ๐
As part of the Peer Facilitatorsโ initiatives for Stress Awareness Month, another meaningful campus activity was conducted on April 30 the Free Hug activity. This initiative aimed to offer a simple yet genuine form of support through human connection.
Not every weight is visible, and not every feeling is spoken. In the middle of busy schedules and personal pressures, a simple hug became a moment of pause a reminder that someone is there, willing to listen even without conversation.
Each embrace symbolized warmth, acceptance, and connection. It created a space where students could feel seen, even just for a moment. Because sometimes, comfort doesnโt come from solutions, but from knowing that you are not facing things alone.
Through small acts like this, the Peer Facilitators continue to build a community rooted in empathy and understandingโwhere support is felt, not just said.
"Sometimes, the most powerful support is simply showing up and holding space."

Framing Feelings: A Photo Booth of Emotionsโจโ๏ธ๐
As April 30 marked the closing of Stress Awareness Month, the Peer Facilitators conducted a meaningful campus activity that encouraged students to express what they often keep inside. Through the Photo Booth, participants were invited to choose an emoji that best represents how they feel in the present momentโa simple yet powerful form of self-expression.
Amid academic pressures, expectations, and personal struggles, emotions are not always easy to put into words. Yet, in this activity, even a single emoji became a voice. Whether students felt happy, overwhelmed, tired, or hopeful, each expression reflected a reality that deserves to be acknowledged and understood.
In moments like these, it becomes evident that creating safe spaces matters. Everyone deserves the chance to pause, reflect, and be seen. Through small yet intentional actions, the Peer Facilitators continue to remind the EVSU community that expressing emotions is a sign of strength, and no one has to face their struggles alone.
"Your feelings are valid, even the ones you canโt fully explain."

SAFE SPACES, OPEN HEARTS: When Peers Become Each Other's Shoulder to Lean On ๐ซโจ๐ค
โ
โ"Mindful Moments: Breathing Space for Peers" was the theme of an event aligned with Stress Awareness Month hosted by the Peer Facilitators' Circle on April 29, 2026. In a peaceful and encouraging setting, this activity gave facilitators a chance to put their mental health first.
โ
โThe event focused on creating a safe space where peer facilitators could openly share their personal experiences, causes of stress, and reflections on their emotions from being overwhelmed. By discussing how they felt during the busy academic and personal experiences, the peers found a sense of connection and mutual understanding.
โ
โThe gathering emphasized the importance of taking a pause to breathe and process the various challenges of student life. It served as a valuable reminder that supporting others starts with taking care of oneself and fostering a community of empathy.
โ
"Self-care is giving the world the best of you, instead of what's left of you."

This Stress Awareness Month, take a moment to reflect in with yourself. What can you control? What can you let go of? Sometimes, peace of mind begins when you separate the two.
Pause, breathe, and give yourself a moment to sort through whatโs on your mind. Not everything is yours to carryโand thatโs okay.

April is Stress Awareness Monthโจโ๏ธ๐
Stress doesn't just live in our headsโit lives in our tight shoulders, our restless sleep, and our shortened patience. This April, weโre moving beyond just "getting through the day" and starting to listen to the signals our bodies are sending.
In the middle of deadlines, expectations, and the constant hustle, itโs easy to ignore the physical and mental toll of stress. Those tangled thoughts, restless nights, and the feeling of being "on edge" are realโbut so is your capacity to manage them and find balance.
Pause for a moment. Breathe.
You are allowed to de-stress. You are allowed to set boundaries. And you are always allowed to seek support when the load gets too heavy. Proactively managing your stress is not a weakness; itโs a form of courage and vital self-preservation. One small boundary, one deep breath, one honest conversation at a time, youโre reclaiming your calm.
"Itโs not the load that breaks you down, itโs the way you carry it."

Behind every silent struggle is a story waiting to be heard. ๐
EVSUnistas, sometimes a simple โAre you okay?โ can mean everything. In a community like ours, a little kindness, a listening ear, and genuine care can go a long way in lifting someone up.
Letโs continue to build a space where every EVSUnista feels safe, valued, and understood, where no one is afraid to speak and no one feels alone. ๐ซถ
