Asian Development Foundation College conferred degrees upon more than 900 graduates from the Graduate School and College Department during its 42nd Commencement Exercises anchored on the theme, "Today, I am proud of ADFC; tomorrow, ADFC will be proud of me", held at Tacloban City Convention Center, May 31.
The event commenced with a Baccalaureate Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Amadeo Alvero, followed by the processional of the graduates, faculty, school administrators, and the guest of honor.
Dr. Maximo C. Aljibe, Director IV of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region 8, delivered the commencement address, emphasizing the core message of the graduation theme during his speech.
ADFC School President Dr. Eden Chua-Pineda presided over the presentation of diplomas, assisted by the respective college deans and department heads.
Following the diploma distribution, Vice President for External Affairs Edison Y. Chua, alongside the graduates' parents, led the presentation of academic trophies and medals to the honor graduates.
Among the awardees was Khaycee J. Elizon, a Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management graduate who finished cm laude. Elizon received the Santiago L. Chua Academic Excellence Award and Senator Manny Villar Academic Excellence Award.
Loyalty awardee Carl Anthony Abellar later led the graduating class in reciting their loyalty pledge, where the graduates committed to upholding the core values of the institution.
The alumni oath was subsequently administered by Assistant School Registrar Engr. Edward Frederick I. Chua, MSIT.
The commencement exercises concluded the academic journey of Batch 2026, marking the culmination of their years of academic effort and perseverance.

CHED R-8 Director Aljibe Urges ADFC Graduates to Live by โAral, Asal, and Dasalโ at 42nd Commencement Exercises
Dr. Maximo C. Aljibe, CESO III, Regional Director of the Commission on Higher Education in Region 8 (CHED R-8), delivered an inspiring and grounded message to the graduating class of the Asian Development Foundation College during the 42nd Commencement Exercises held at the Tacloban City Convention Center, May 31.
Speaking as the commencement speaker, Dr. Aljibe emphasized that a complete education extends far beyond academic achievements, anchoring his address on three core pillars: aral, asal, and dasal@.
Dr. Aljibe reminded the graduates that their education gains true meaning only when it is put into service for the community and guided by faith. He concluded this segment of his speech with a powerful reminder to the new graduates: "So, if you have aral, you have now asal, but most importantly, always seek the guidance of the Almightyโdasal po 'yun."
The 42nd Commencement Exercises marked a major milestone for the ADFC community, with Dr. Aljibeโs words serving as a guiding compass for the graduates as they transition from academic life into their respective professional careers.

BSED - English Students Showcase Literary and Performing Arts Skills in Annie (Re-Imagined) Musical
The Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) Major in English students successfully staged Annie (Re-Imagined) on May 29, 2025, as part of their final performance in SPEC 617 โ Children and Adolescent Literature under the guidance of Mr. Sidney D. Apuya.
The musical showcased the studentโs talents, creativity, and teamwork through acting, singing, and stage production. By presenting a re-imagined version of the classic story, they demonstrated their understanding of literature while delivering an engaging performance for the audience.
Beyond fulfilling a course requirement, the activity helped students enhance their communication skills, build self-confidence, and gain valuable experience in the performing arts.
The success of Annie (Re-Imagined) reflected the dedication of the BSED students and the guidance of Mr. Sidney D. Apuya, making the event both educational and memorable.
