This page first began as the home of our little preschool, The Learning Tree. It was a place that believed childhood should be protected, joyful, and full of wonder. And although that chapter has come to a close, the mission never really ended. It was simply growing quietly, and awaiting its time to blossom again:)

I have often reflected on what comes next, but I keep finding my way back to where it all started... Happy Valley. That’s the little neighborhood that raised me, in a bungalow at the end of a cul-de-sac where my siblings, cousins, aunts, and uncles, and neighbors became part of my childhood story. It was where children played outside until sunset, with the occasional trip to the neighborhood sari-sari store for comic-strip gum or a candy ring, where scraped knees were ordinary and climbing trees felt like an afternoon well spent.

That kind of village may look different today, but I don't believe it's gone. I think we're simply being invited to build it in new ways. Not just for our children, but for everyone who helps raise them: parents, caregivers, teachers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and every adult who becomes part of a child's world.

So this page is becoming more than a preschool page. It's becoming a place where we can slow down, ask better questions, and keep learning together. Here, I'll be sharing what I'm learning about child development, modern parenting, evidence-based childcare, and the books, research, and ideas that continue to shape the way I see childhood.

I hope this becomes a place where we gather, share stories, pass along what we're learning, and remind one another that none of us were meant to raise children alone.
