JHS Lampstand Fellowship | August 11, 2026
The weekly fellowship on August 11, 2026 centered on understanding the identity and work of the Holy Spirit, as Ptr. Faith Ann P. Sapguian led the participants through Biblical teachings about the Third Persona of God.
Using Acts 5:3–4 as one of the main biblical references, Ptr. Sapguian emphasized that the Holy Spirit is not merely a force or influence but is God Himself. The discussion also highlighted the Divine characteristics of the Holy Spirit—His eternal nature, omnipresence, omniscience, and omnipotence.
Beyond knowing who the Holy Spirit is, the fellowship focused on how He works in the lives of believers.
The Holy Spirit testifies of our relationship with God, as stated in Romans 8:16. He teaches according to John 14:26 and guides believers in Romans 8:14. Through the Spirit, Christians are also helped to live a life that pleases God, as emphasized in Galatians 5:16.
The lesson further pointed to the Holy Spirit's role in prayer. Romans 8:26 reminds believers that the Spirit helps in their weaknesses, particularly when they do not know how to pray. Romans 8:11 also speaks of the Spirit who gives life to our mortal bodies.
The discussion brought the participants to a simple but important reminder: the Christian life is not meant to be lived through human strength alone. The Holy Spirit continues to teach, guide, help, and empower believers as they grow in their relationship with God.
Through the fellowship, participants were encouraged not only to learn about the Holy Spirit but also to recognize His work in their everyday lives and allow His guidance to shape their faith and actions.

JHS LAMPSTAND FELLOWSHIP | August 7, 2026

This week, our JHS students gathered for another meaningful Lampstand Fellowship, with the topic “Devotion”, taught by Mentor Kelly Faith B. Jasmin.
Devotion is more than simply reading the Bible. It is about building and strengthening our relationship with God every day—knowing Him, growing in Him, and allowing His Word to guide the way we live.
Mentor Kelly described devotion as:
S - Scripture
O- Observation
A - Application
P - Prayer

The Bible helps strengthen our relationship with God in three important ways:
1️⃣ It helps us KNOW GOD BETTER.
Through His Word, we discover who God is—His character, His nature, His promises, and His heart toward us. The more we know God, the more we learn to trust and follow Him.
“So faith comes from hearing the Good News…” — Romans 10:17
2️⃣ It helps us GROW SPIRITUALLY.
Just as a newborn baby needs milk to grow, we need the Word of God to become spiritually strong. We should develop a hunger for God's Word and continually seek it.
“Like newborn babies, you should long for the pure milk of God’s word…” — 1 Peter 2:2–3
The more we read and obey God's Word, the stronger our faith becomes.
3️⃣ It helps us LIVE THE LIFE GOD WANTS FOR US.
God's Word teaches us how to live according to His will. It reminds us of His ways and helps us guard our hearts and choices. Devotion is not only about knowing God's Word—it is about putting His Word into practice.
“How can a young person live a pure life? By obeying your word.” — Psalm 119:9

Devotion is a daily decision.
We don't read the Bible merely to finish a chapter or fulfill a routine. We read it because we want to know God, grow spiritually, and live a life that pleases Him.
As young people, may we learn to make God's Word a part of our everyday lives. A strong relationship with God is built one day, one prayer, one verse, and one act of obedience at a time.
