Students from the Special Program in the Arts of Tabuk City National High School are preparing for the National Festival of Talents in Cebu City on July 7-11.
After besting all the performances in Regional Festival of Talents in Baguio City, the representatives of the Division of Tabuk will represent the region in Bayle sa Kalye, a modern/contemporary street dance.
โWe have been waiting for this and we hope for the support of the whole region, especially Tabuk City to be able to bring the full potential of young Tabukeรฑos in the national stage and be able to win,โ stated by Trisha Padcayan, one of the coaches alongside Vivian Domingo.
One of the dancers expressed her excitement to travel by plane for the first time and gratitude for the opportunity given to her.
The representatives in the said competition will travel to Cebu with other students from Tabuk City who will represent the region in other national competition such as the National Press Conference and the Palarong Pambansa.

Through the initiative of Tabuk City National High School Association, two alumnae from Batches 1996 and 2000 donated two dozens of baseballs to baseball players to represent Tabuk City during the CARAA Meet this April in Apayao.
โThe baseballs are helpful especially that we are now attending the in-house training for a week before traveling to Apayao,โ one of the players said.
The coaches are grateful for the support of the alumni association and its donors.

Tabuk City National High School, through its English Club, holds extemporaneous speaking and read-a-thon activities, Nov. 24.
entitled "Enabling Language: Bridging Cultures, Connecting the World, Nov. 24.
According to Ms. Charise Boclongan, the organizer of this activity, the aim is to enhance the students' speaking skills.
With a score of 94.33%, the winner of the extemporaneous speaking Ms. Rhainne Gamongan from Grade 10 curriculum. Meanwhile, the second-placed student is in grade 11 followed by two grade 12 students.
According to Gamongan, the one who garnered the first spot, she won because of her experiences and the fact that she already participated in multiple contests concerning extemporaneous and authoritarian contests.
And one of the contestants, Ms. Jami Maslan, said that when she heard the result, she didn't feel sad, even though she did not win; instead, she felt happy for those other contestants because she knew that they deserved it better than her.
Grade 8 won in the Read-a-thon for Category A and Grade 9 bagged gold for Category B.
On Monday, Dec. 4, first-ever stand-up comedy competition, declamation, and speech choir will be facilitated.
These activities are part of the English Festival celebration which shall culminate on Dec. 6 when the annual parade of gods and goddesses will be witnessed.

Tabuk City National High School's (TCNHS) Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD) Organization conducts National Drug Education Program Month at Tabuk City High Open Gym, Nov. 30.
BKD officers, together with the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG), Brgy. Councils of Dagupan Weste, and Dagupan Centro, led by Hon. George Esteras, Tabuk City PNP and classroom officers paraded slogans about the anti-drug campaign during the Kontra Droga Walk.
When asked about the purpose of the culminating program, Jesse Maguiya, BKD Adviser said that, โโฆthe purpose of the program is for information dissemination and then to let the learners to be aware of illegal drugs especially the negative effects [of illegal drugs]."
Maguiya added that they have series of symposia and room to room conduct of information dissemination by different Anti-Illegal Drug Agencies to advocate the prevention of drugs in the school.
BKD also conducted several activities during the NDEP celebration, such as oration with Ellen Faith Guted as champion, vlogging which Aesthetics from Grade 11 attained 1st place. Meanwhile, Joselito Lagazpi won first place in Acoustic Singing contest.
Hon. George Esteras, Brgy. Chairman Dagupan Centro and Dagupan Weste Indigenous People Mandatory Representative Mr. Asingan shared their Commitment of Support on Anti-Drug Campaign.
Milo Jr. Diaz, a BKD officer, said that he learned quite a lot since the guest speakers imparted messages, especially about avoiding drugs.

For its third year implementation, Tabuk City National High School (TCNHS) stakeholders came together to donate blood at Tabuk City National High School, Nov. 24.
Employees of TCNHS, parents, alumni, senior high school students, and even the Bureau of Fire personnel donated at least 33 bags of 450ml blood including 17 Type O, nine Type B, and 6 Type A.
Donnah Lyn Vallejo, the school nurse and the lead of the event, hopes that this event will strengthen the awareness raising on the importance of blood donations.
According to Maโam Trisha Padcayan, one of the donors, โdonating blood has been satisfying knowing that it cleanses my body and it allows me to save lives.โ
This event will replenish the schools blood bank as stated in the partnership between the school and the Philippine Red Cross.
