Banneng Elementary School Clean-Up Drive Ahead of Kalinga Day
Elementary School (BES) recently joined a community clean-up drive in preparation for the upcoming Kalinga Day celebration. The activity was conducted at the invitation of the local Barangay Council of Barangay CALACCAD , demonstrating strong school–community collaboration. Our learners, along with teachers and staff, worked together to clean the school grounds and adjacent barangay roads. Kalinga Day, which coincides with the province’s founding anniversary and Bodong Festival, is marked by cultural events that underscore community unity and pride
In this spirit, the clean-up drive aimed to ensure a clean and welcoming environment for the festivities.
: The clean-up drive was organized under the guidance of the Barangay Council, highlighting the partnership between BES and local officials.
was collected in designated bags for proper disposal, reinforcing good waste segregation habits.
: The event proceeded smoothly through the collective efforts of everyone involved. Participants showed discipline and cooperation throughout the clean-up, reflecting the school’s commitment to civic responsibility.
clean-up drive aligns with broader efforts to instill environmental stewardship and civic responsibility among students. Barangay-led clean-up efforts are intended to “actively engage local communities… encouraging their participation in cleanliness efforts to enhance public health and protect the environment”
, educational initiatives emphasize the importance of sustainability; programs in other schools aim to “instill a culture of environmental responsibility among students, emphasizing proper waste segregation and sustainable practices”
taking part in this drive, our school community exemplified these values and helped foster a cleaner, healthier neighborhood. Our sincere appreciation goes to the Barangay Council and all volunteers for their guidance and support. We also commend the BES learners, teachers, and staff for their hard work and dedication. The success of this activity reflects the spirit of unity and pride that Kalinga Day embodies
Elementary School remains committed to promoting cleanliness and civic-mindedness in our community as we look forward to the celebrations ahead.

“Healthy teeth, happy smile—brush and shine a while!”
Banneng Elementary School is thankful to Rural Health Unit 3 (RHU) to Dra. Waiah Ballesteros-Soriano, Sir Randolf Alvarado, Ma’am Melody Puyao, and the Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) staff for once again choosing our school to provide oral health services. These services include basic oral health education, toothbrushing demonstrations, fluoride varnish application to prevent tooth decay, and the distribution of toothbrushes and toothpaste.
