The school, along with thousands of other schools across the country, participated in the event, which aims to promote the love for reading and enhance students’ reading comprehension skills.

At exactly 9:00 AM, students, teachers, and staff of NTNHS participate in the synchronized reading session. Each participant brought their own book and read for 15 minutes. The school also provided a selection of books for those who did not have their own.

New Tanglag National High School (NTNHS) is all set to celebrate Reading Month with a month-long calendar of activities designed to promote the love of reading among students.

The Reading Month kick-off program was held on November 15, 2023, at the school ground. The program was attended by the faculty & staff and students.

The program started with a welcome address by Hazel Wyn N. Simangan, an English teacher who emphasized the importance of reading in the development of students.

This was followed by a message from Mary Joy Tangbawan, the English club coordinator, who eloquently elaborated on the purpose of the month-long activity.

The highlight of the program was the launching of the school's Reading Month activities.

The Reading Month activities are expected to help students develop a love of reading and improve their reading skills. The activities will also help students develop a wider vocabulary and a better understanding of the world around them.

The program ended with a closing message by Genevieve Basitao, Teacher III who encouraged the students to continue reading even after the month-long celebration is over.

NTNHS is committed to providing its students with a quality education. The school's Reading Month activities are just one example of the many ways that NTNHS is working to promote literacy among its students.
