Students from different provinces in the Cordillera Administrative Region convened at the Baguio Teacher Camp, Baguio City for the 2nd Regional Learners Convergence on November 17โ21. One of the participants is Kalinga National High Schoolโs YES-O and BKD President. The occasion was an opportunity for students to meet friends from various provinces, share experiences and engage in meaningful conversations on current topics affecting young people.
As a result of this convergence, learners improved their leadership and teamwork skills, and the importance of values and personal responsibility which served as a reminder to the students that humility, stewardship, and respect start at home and depend on how one relates with others. Inspired participants to become more confident, compassionate, and proactive leaders in their schools and community.
To our SDS Ma'am Gamatero, our School Principal Ma'am Mildred S. Cabay, thank you for the opportunity in joining the said activity. Big thanks also to Sir Allan Galanza, Ma'am Jessica Polig, and Sir Xandrecks Kinao for accompanying and guiding us.

2nd quarter collection of used plastic bottles and used papers on October 19,2025 with 1,155.00 generated fund.
These initiatives teach proper waste segregation and environmental responsibility while generating funds for YES-O activities.
A school-based plastic bottle and used papers collection can significantly benefit the environment by reducing waste and promoting sustainability through a recycling program and educational campaigns. Such a collection not only cleans up the school but also teaches students valuable lessons about conservation and their responsibility toward the planet.
Thank you Rolands' Junkshop Your support would make a big difference, Your efforts in collecting our recyclable waste is very much appreciated!
Let us continue practicing proper segregation fellow KNHSians๐

YES-O participation during the Seminar on Mind Over Matter: Movements for Change held on September 22,2025 at Tree Tops, Bantay Tabuk City,Kalinga.
The Mental Health Awareness session, aptly titled "Mind Over Matter: Movements for Change," was successfully conducted at Tree Tops with our very energetic guest speakers: Hilda Adong, Lorrain Salibad, Atty. Errol Comafay, and Lieutenant Jack Angog. The activity focused on understanding common mental health challenges, promoting self-care practices, understanding the Safe Spaces Act, and encouraging open conversations to break the stigma surrounding mental health.
A particularly vital segment of our program delved into drug awareness. This discussion was profoundly impactful, highlighting the critical importance of understanding the dangers of substance abuse, not just for personal well-being but for the safety and resilience of our entire community. It equipped us with essential knowledge to recognize risks and advocate for healthier choices among our peers.
Participants were actively engaged in the discussions and interactive activities, gaining valuable insights on managing stress, building resilience, and supporting one another.
Having fulfilled our responsibilities as student leaders, we can reflect on our initiatives, learning, and growth. Equipped with newfound knowledge of mental health awareness, the complexities of drug abuse, and the importance of legal protections, we are now better prepared to support those around us. In addition to mental health, we also gained valuable insights into laws such as the Safe Spaces Act (RA 11313).
I am deeply grateful to the lecturers for sharing their expertise on mental health, drug awareness, stress and coping management, and the Safe Spaces Act.

๐YES-O actively participated during the DAY 2 OF LEADERSHIP TRAINING spearheaded by the SSLG
โIf you want to lead, you should enjoy what youโre doing.โ
These words resonated with our young leaders as Day 2 of the School-Based Leadership Training Workshop at Kalinga National High School unfolded with insightful discussions and engaging activities on September 9.
Our first speaker, Sir Rowell Bustilo, shared his wisdom on Conflict and Resolution. He emphasized that conflict is normal, it only becomes a problem when left unmanaged. His talk guided student leaders in finding healthy, constructive ways to address disagreements.
Meanwhile, our second speaker, Maโam Winona Bustilo, tackled the topic Leadership Style. She encouraged leaders not to stick to just one style, but instead to assess the situation and apply the most appropriate approach for effective leadership.
In the afternoon, the training was filled with fun yet meaningful team-building activities such as:
โ๏ธ Blind Drawing
โ๏ธ Straw Tower Challenge
โ๏ธ Blindfold Obstacle Course
These activities strengthened trust, communication, and collaboration among student leaders and advisers.
Indeed, Day 2 proved that KNHS student leaders are not only learning the skills of leadership but also building strong bonds that will help them serve with wisdom, and joy.
