NewsBits: Team MRVNHS Excel in Area Read-A-Thon

Marcelino R. Veloso National High School (MRVNHS) proudly celebrates the outstanding performance of its learners who secured top spots in the Area Read-A-Thon Competition held at Macupa Elementary School on August 22, earning qualification to the Division Festival of Talents – Read-A-Thon Category.

Manuelle Avisha Carel and Cedrick Pelayo clinched 1st Place in the Advocacy Pitch posting an impressive average score of 99.30 and securing the top spot over 12 participating schools within Area III. Meanwhile, Kylle Agosto, Sean Aizel Antonio, and Antonio Valenzona III brought victory to the school by securing 3rd Place in Dokyuwento, showcasing their storytelling skills, teamwork, and creativity in presenting their piece.

Their impressive performances earned both teams a slot in the upcoming Division Festival of Talents, where they will represent the area and compete against other outstanding learners from across the division.

The achievements of our learners reflect their dedication, preparation, and the strong support of their coaches, Mr. Sherwin Mark Ancajas and Mrs. Jessica Varga, their parents, and the entire MRVNHS community. Their success also highlights the school's continuing commitment to developing learners' literacy, communication, creativity, and confidence.

NewsBits: Mollejon qualifies for the Division Math Fair

Rezaiyeh Mollejon clinched 3rd place in the Grade 7 category at the recently concluded Area Math Quiz held at Tabango National High School on Friday, August 21, earning a well-deserved qualification to compete in the upcoming Division Math Fair to be held at Dulag, Leyte.

The achievement is especially commendable as the competition featured more than 20 participating schools from across the area. The school also posted notable performances across other grade levels.

Zian Damayo secured 7th place in Grade 8, while Queen Arthvil Sala earned 6th place in Grade 9. Meanwhile, Manuelle Avisha Carel finished 6th place in the Grade 10 individual category, while Paula Dianne Punay and Prince Hail Reyes also secured 6th place in the group category. John Leorich Cortez likewise represented the school in Grade 11, earning 10th place in the competition, contributing to the school’s strong showing in the competition.

MRVNHS congratulates our learners for their commendable performances. The school likewise recognizes the dedication of their coaches, teachers, and parents who supported the learners throughout their preparation.

MRVNHS Celebrates Nutrition Month 2026

Look: Marcelino R. Veloso National High School (MRVNHS) successfully celebrated Nutrition Month 2026 through a series of meaningful and educational activities that promoted healthy eating habits, proper handwashing, and active lifestyles among learners for the whole month of July.

To ensure that learning remained the school's top priority, all Nutrition Month activities were carefully scheduled and implemented without disrupting regular classroom instruction, allowing students to actively participate while continuing their academic responsibilities.

Through the collective efforts of the MAPEH Department, spearheaded by Ms. Maria Rosario Miladiey Capendit, the celebration reinforced the value of maintaining a healthy lifestyle as an essential foundation for academic success and overall well-being. PNP Tabango Conducts School Safety Shooting Simulation at MRVNHS

As part of its continuing commitment to strengthening school safety and emergency preparedness, the Philippine National Police (PNP) Tabango Municipal Police Station conducted a school safety shooting simulation exercise on July 30, at Marcelino R. Veloso National High School (MRVNHS). The activity aimed to enhance the preparedness of school personnel, students, and emergency responders in responding to critical incidents through coordinated action and proper safety protocols.

The simulation featured a realistic emergency scenario designed to test the school's response mechanisms, communication procedures, and coordination among key agencies. Throughout the exercise, the PNP Tabango demonstrated the appropriate actions to be taken during a security threat while emphasizing the importance of remaining calm, following established emergency procedures, and cooperating with authorities.

MRVNHS expressed its sincere appreciation to the PNP Tabango Municipal Police Station, under the supervision of Police Lieutenant Rameses Bardillon, for spearheading the initiative and reaffirmed its commitment to providing a safe and secure learning environment for all members of the school community.

Look: MRVNHS Receives Emergency Rescue Kit from Tabango MDRRMO

Marcelino R. Veloso National High School (MRVNHS) received emergency rescue kits from the Tabango Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) on July 21, as part of its continuing efforts to strengthen disaster preparedness and ensure the safety of the entire school community.

The donated rescue kit provides essential supplies and equipment that may be utilized during emergencies, accidents, and other unforeseen situations within the school premises. It will also support the school’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) programs and enhance its capacity to respond promptly and effectively to emergencies.

MRVNHS expresses its heartfelt appreciation to the whole council of Local Government Unit of Tabango, spearheaded by Hon. Maricor Remandaban, and Mr. Jayvon Arcipe, MDRRM officer, for their generous donation and continued support in promoting safety and preparedness.

Through this partnership, MRVNHS continues to uphold its commitment to protecting the welfare of its learners, teaching and non-teaching personnel, and the entire school community.
