LOOK: GRADE 12 BEAUTY CARE STUDENTS BRING THEIR SKILLS TO THE SCHOOLS DIVISION OFFICE OF LEYTE

Our Beauty Care major students brought their skills beyond the classroom as they visited the Schools Division Office of Leyte to join the celebration of World Teachers’ Day and provide beauty care services, including massage and nail care, to the division personnel.

Through this hands-on experience, our learners showcased their developing skills, professionalism, and commitment to delivering quality service while expressing their appreciation for the dedication and hard work of educators. The activity also allowed them to gain valuable real-world experience in their chosen field.

At MRVNHS, learning goes beyond the four walls of the classroom—it is about applying skills, building confidence, honoring our teachers, and preparing learners for future careers.

Marcelino R. Veloso National High School (MRVNHS) informs all learners, parents/guardians, and school personnel that regular classes will proceed on Monday, October 5, 2026.

The implementation of Executive Order No. 22, Series of 2026, has been suspended. In view of this, and pursuant to Republic Act No. 10743, regular classes will proceed on October 5, 2026.

As we observe National Teachers’ Day, MRVNHS recognizes and honors the invaluable contributions, dedication, and commitment of our teachers and school personnel.

Everyone is advised to take note of this announcement and make the necessary preparations.

Look: USEC. MARCELINO G. VELOSO III VISITS MRVNHS

TABANGO, LEYTE | October 2, 2026 — Marcelino R. Veloso National High School (MRVNHS) welcomed Atty. Marcelino G. Veloso III, Undersecretary for Information and Communications Technology Service of the Department of Education (DepEd), during his visit to the school today.

Usec. Mars Veloso was accompanied by Dr. Emmanuel P. Firmo Jr., Education Program Supervisor for Science of DepEd Region VIII, and Mr. Aladin P. Nierras, Senior Education Program Specialist of the Schools Division of Biliran.

The visit was made more meaningful by Usec. Mars Veloso’s connection to the community as the grandson of Marcelino R. Veloso, whose legacy remains part of the school and local community.

MRVNHS warmly thanks Usec. Mars and the visiting DepEd officials for gracing the school with their presence.

Look: MRVNHS Holds Pinning Ceremony for Grade 12 Immersion Learners

A meaningful milestone unfolded as Marcelino R. Veloso National High School (MRVNHS) Grade 12 learners took part in their Pinning Ceremony on September 28, 2026 prior to their work immersion, marking the beginning of a new chapter filled with learning, responsibility, and real-world experience.

Adding inspiration to the occasion was the talk delivered by Mr. Elmer A. Samorin, a proud MRVNHS alumnus and now an employee of LEYECO V, Ormoc City. Drawing from his own journey from the halls of MRVNHS to the workplace, Mr. Samorin shared valuable insights and encouragement as the learners prepare to step beyond the classroom.

The ceremony served not only as a send-off but also as a reminder that every journey begins with preparation, perseverance, and the courage to take the next step.

NewsBits: MRVNHS Holds 3-Day Pre-Immersion Orientation for Grade 12 Students

Marcelino R. Veloso National High School (MRVNHS) conducted a three-day Pre-Immersion Orientation from September 22 to 24, 2026, for its Grade 12 Senior High School learners, preparing them for their upcoming work immersion experience through a series of informative and practical activities.

On September 22, the first day of the orientation featured a Students’ Orientation designed to familiarize learners with the purpose, guidelines, expectations, and requirements of the work immersion program. The orientation featured lectures from Master Teacher II Mrs. May Reah P. Carel, Master Teacher I Mr. Archimedes Delalamon, and Teacher IV Mrs. Melinda Denoy, who shared essential information and guidance to help learners prepare for their immersion journey.

On September 23, the second day was dedicated to the Parents’ Orientation, where parents and guardians were briefed on the work immersion program, including its guidelines, requirements, responsibilities, and safety policies. Representatives from four insurance companies—Palawan Pawnshop, Cebuana Lhuillier, OCCCI, and MLhuillier—also participated in the orientation. They discussed the students’ required insurance coverage, including its benefits, scope, and procedures, ensuring that parents were informed about the protection provided to learners during their work immersion.

On September 24, the final day featured a Mock Job Interview, giving learners a hands-on opportunity to experience a simulated employment application process. Students practiced answering common interview questions, presenting themselves professionally, and demonstrating appropriate workplace behavior. The activity aimed to strengthen their confidence, communication skills, and preparedness for actual workplace interviews.

The three-day orientation served as an important preparatory activity, equipping Grade 12 learners and their parents with the knowledge, expectations, and skills needed for a safe, meaningful, and successful work immersion experience.

Look: MRVNHS Among Three High Schools in Leyte Division Selected as eAcademy Beneficiary School

Amid the many public high schools across the Leyte Division, Marcelino R. Veloso National High School (MRVNHS) has been identified as one of only three high schools in the Division selected to participate in the eAcademy Program, a digital learning initiative implemented in collaboration with Town4Kids of Singapore.

The program forms part of the Department of Education's continuing efforts to strengthen instructional delivery and expand learning opportunities through technology. For the succeeding batch of implementers, 123 public elementary and high schools across the Region have been identified to participate in the program, serving as partner institutions in the integration of eAcademy and providing wider access to digital learning resources.

For MRVNHS, the inclusion in the program opens a new avenue for its learners to experience technology-enhanced learning. A total of 150 MRVNHS learners will be given access to the eAcademy application, allowing them to engage with digital learning resources designed to complement classroom instruction.

Recognizing that effective technology integration begins with equipped educators, MRVNHS teachers underwent an orientation and training on the eAcademy application on August 14, 2026. The activity introduced teachers to the platform and its features, preparing them to effectively guide learners in utilizing the application as part of their learning experience.

The orientation was spearheaded by Mrs. May Reah P. Carel, Master Teacher II of the Language Department, with the support and leadership of School Principal Dr. Maria Maida B. Flores.

The school's participation in the program marks another step toward embracing innovative approaches to education. As one of only three high schools in the Leyte Division selected for the initiative, MRVNHS is positioned to provide its learners with greater opportunities to explore learning through digital technology.

More than simply gaining access to an application, the eAcademy Program brings together teachers, learners, and technology toward a shared goal: making quality and meaningful learning more accessible to every child.

With this new opportunity, MRVNHS continues to move forward in its commitment to innovation, digital learning, and learner-centered education.

News Bits: MRV Launches “LITLENS”: Celebrating Young Voices, Creativity, and the Beauty of Tabango

Marcelino R. Veloso National High School unfolded new literary milestone as the school officially launched “LITLENS,” a compilation of written works produced by its Grade 7 learners.

The book was launched on September 18, 2026, during the school’s 1st Term Portfolio and Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Program, highlighting the learners’ creativity, insights, and developing skills as young writers.

Spearheading the publication was Mrs. May Reah P. Carel, Master Teacher II of the Language Department, who also handled the Grade 7 class and closely guided the learners throughout the writing process. Through her mentorship, the students’ individual works were brought together into a meaningful collection that celebrates their voices, experiences, and accomplishments.

Adding a distinct local touch to the publication, the Grade 7 learners also turned their pens toward Tabango’s go-to places and notable destinations, capturing the charm and character of their hometown through their own words. In doing so, LITLENS becomes more than a collection of student writings—it also offers readers a glimpse of the places, stories, and beauty that make Tabango special.

The school likewise extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Local Government Unit of Tabango, particularly Municipal Mayor Maria Corazon E. Remandaban, for extending support through the provision of the printing budget, helping transform the learners’ written works into a published collection.

More than a book, LITLENS is a celebration of young voices, local identity, creativity, and the power of writing to preserve stories and showcase the community.
