Commands rang out, movements snapped into place, and every formation told a story of discipline as ROTC cadets of Rizal College of Taal, Inc. took on the Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI) on Sunday, April 12.
Led by RAATI Chairman Colonel Virgilio Hamos Jr., the inspection pushed cadets beyond routine drills that tested their coordination, composure, and teamwork under pressure, and revealing the results of their training.
RAATI is a parameter of excellence, where preparation meets purpose that shaped students into confident, disciplined, and mission-ready individuals prepared to serve when the nation calls.

Rizal College of Taal ROTC Unit Successfully Conducts Joint Closing and Activation Ceremony of School-Based Ready Reserve Unit

The Rizal College of Taal ROTC Unit successfully conducted its Joint Closing Ceremony and Activation of the School-Based Ready Reserve Unit for Cycle Year 2025โ2026, marking a significant milestone in the development of disciplined and service-oriented student-cadets.
The activity was organized and led by the Training Staff under the supervision of MAJ GERONIMO D VERGARA (INF) PA, ROTC Commandant, with the support of Tactical Non-Commissioned Officers. The ceremony formally concluded months of rigorous military training and leadership development for the cadets.
The program commenced with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, followed by an invocation led by C/CPT KHIARA ENRIQUEZ and welcome remarks delivered by MSg Erwin V Bagui PA (Res), setting a solemn and meaningful tone.
The presentation of ROTC Basic Cadets, Advance Cadets, and Candidate Officer Course Cadets for closing was administered by 1LT JOSE R MATULAC PA (RES), followed by the official declaration of closing by the ROTC Commandant, signifying the successful completion of all prescribed training requirements.
Certificates and awards were subsequently distributed in recognition of the cadetsโ dedication, discipline, and outstanding performance. The turnover of graduates into the reserve force and the administration of the Oath of Reservist by 1LT Matulac highlighted their readiness to serve the nation with honor and commitment.
A key highlight of the event was the Activation Ceremony of the School-Based Ready Reserve Unit. The Unit Activation and Designation Order was read by SSg Orven Mendoza PA (Res), followed by the formal turnover of the unit flagsymbolizing the unitโs official establishment, operational readiness, and vital role in national defense.
In his message, MAJ Vergara emphasized that ROTC is more than a training program it is a foundation for nation-building. He underscored the values of patriotism, discipline, leadership, and civic responsibility instilled in every cadet, preparing them to become capable leaders and responsible citizens.
A total of three hundred forty-three (343) cadets, including eleven (11) First Class Advance Cadet Officers led by C/COL SHERYN D ARAGON 1CL, Corps Commander, successfully completed the program.
The ceremony concluded at 1200H on the same day.
The Rizal College of Taal ROTC Unit continues to stand firm in its mission of developing young leaders who are ready to serve proving that todayโs cadets are truly the nationโs leaders of tomorrow.

RAATI 2026 Highlights Excellence and Patriotism of RCT ROTC Unit
The Rizal College of Taal ROTC Unit successfully conducted the Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI) 2026, showcasing the unitโs operational readiness, discipline, and commitment to excellence.
The activity commenced with the arrival honors for COL VIRGILIO C HAMOS JR GSC (INF) PA, Chairman of the RAATI Team, who was formally received by MAJ GERONIMO D VERGARA (INF) PA, ROTC Commandant. This was followed by a courtesy call to the school administration represented by Mr. Leonilo P. Andal, HR Secretary and NSTP Coordinator. A Commandantโs Briefing was subsequently delivered, highlighting the ROTC unitโs accomplishments, best practices, and sustained training efforts.
During the Program Proper, key activities included the invocation, welcome remarks, and the formal turnover and assumption of command and control for the inspection. COL Hamos, as Guest of Honor and Speaker, presented the RAATI Team and delivered his message emphasizing the vital role of ROTC in nation-building. He underscored that ROTC serves as a foundation in developing discipline, leadership, and, most importantly, patriotism among the youth, preparing them to become responsible citizens and potential defenders of the nation.
The inspection proper and evaluation phases were conducted systematically, culminating in the announcement of results wherein the RCT ROTC Unit attained a General Average of 87.88%, reflecting the unitโs high level of preparedness and performance.
The success of the activity was largely attributed to the dedication and hard work of 390 cadets and cadettes, led by C/COL SHERYN D ARAGON 1CL, who demonstrated exemplary discipline, coordination, and teamwork throughout the inspection. Their performance highlighted the effectiveness of the ROTC training program in developing competent and responsive student-cadets.
Equally commendable is the unwavering commitment of the Training Staff under the supervision of MAJ GERONIMO D VERGARA (INF) PA, whose guidance and leadership ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the activity. Their efforts were instrumental in achieving the unitโs notable performance.
The ROTC Unit also extends its sincere gratitude to the school administration for its continuous support to the ROTC program, which plays a crucial role in shaping the character, leadership, and civic consciousness of the students.
The RAATI 2026 serves not only as an evaluation mechanism but also as a reaffirmation of the ROTC programโs significance in fostering discipline, unity, and patriotism among the youth ensuring that they remain committed partners in nation-building.

Rizal College of Taal ROTC Unit Successfully Conducts 13th and 14th Training Day
On April 11, 2026, the Rizal College of Taal ROTC Unit successfully conducted its 13th and 14th Training Day for ROTC MS-2, School Year 2025โ2026. The activity was supervised by the Training Staff under the leadership of MAJ GERONIMO D. VERGARA (INF) PA, ROTC Commandant, with the assistance of ten Tactical NCOs and the support of cadet officers.
The program formally opened with the Entrance of Colors, singing of the National Anthem, and invocation. This was followed by attendance and the final rehearsal for the upcoming Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI) 2026, ensuring the cadetsโ preparedness for evaluation.
The activity aimed to strengthen discipline, teamwork, and leadership among cadets while reinforcing the core objectives of the ROTC programโdeveloping physically, morally, and intellectually capable youth who are ready to serve the nation in times of need. It also emphasized the importance of patriotism, civic responsibility, and unity.
During his guidance, MAJ VERGARA reminded the cadets to internalize the values of discipline, respect, and love of country, and to apply these not only during training but also in their daily lives as students and future leaders.
A total of 295 basic cadets, led by Corps Commander C/Col Sheryn D. Aragon 1CL, actively participated in the activity. The training concluded successfully at exactly 1600H on the same day.
