As part of the First LINGAS Summit 2026 held on May 20โ22, 2026 at the SNSU City Gym, Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU) celebrated another important milestone through the Blessing and formal launching of the Tourism and Innovative Products Display (TRIPOD) at SNSU City Campus.
The establishment of TRIPOD marks a significant step in strengthening SNSUโs innovation and commercialization ecosystem by providing a dedicated facility that promotes the showcasing, marketing, and commercialization of research and development (R&D) outputs generated by SNSU innovators and technologies transferred to partner industries. The facility is envisioned to serve as a strategic platform that bridges academic innovation, entrepreneurship, tourism promotion, and industry collaboration.
The ceremonial blessing symbolized not only the inauguration of the facility but also SNSUโs continuing commitment to transforming research outputs into market-driven products and community-responsive innovations. Through TRIPOD, the university aims to create wider opportunities for innovators, researchers, students, and industry partners to showcase locally developed technologies, creative products, and tourism-oriented innovations that contribute to economic growth and sustainable regional development.
The center will be directly managed by ๐ฟ๐ง. ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ฎ ๐. ๐ฟ๐๐จ๐๐๐ง๐ฉ๐๐ฃ, who will oversee the operations, coordination, and implementation of programs related to product promotion, commercialization initiatives, and partnership engagements. Under his leadership, TRIPOD is expected to become a dynamic hub for innovation showcasing, technology transfer, and enterprise development that will strengthen the visibility and market potential of SNSU-developed products and technologies.
During the event, university officials, stakeholders, faculty members, students, industry partners, and guests witnessed the dedication of the facility as part of SNSUโs expanding innovation infrastructure. The center is envisioned to support not only product display and promotion but also collaborative activities that enhance commercialization pathways, tourism development initiatives, and innovation-driven entrepreneurship in the region.

The Technology Transfer & Commercialization Office actively participated in the First LINGAS Summit 2026 held from May 20โ22, 2026 at the SNSU City Gym. As part of its participation, the TTCO showcased the innovative research and development (R&D) outputs of faculty researchers, graduate students, and undergraduate student innovators from Surigao del Norte State University. The exhibit highlighted various technologies, product innovations, and research-based solutions developed through the universityโs commitment to research excellence, innovation, and community-responsive development.
Throughout the event, faculty researchers and student innovators were given the opportunity to pitch their technologies and research outputs to guests, visitors, partner agencies, and stakeholders. The presentations served as an avenue to communicate the significance, potential applications, and commercialization opportunities of the showcased innovations while encouraging collaboration and industry linkage opportunities.

The Technology Transfer and Commercialization Office (TTCO) of Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU) actively participated in ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐: The UP Innovation Summit 2026 and the ๐๐๐๐-๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ Presidents Forum & Kick-off Workshop held from May 5โ7, 2026 at the SMX Convention Center Aura and UP BGC-Henry Sy Sr. Hall, Taguig City.
The national convergence served as a strategic platform for knowledge exchange, capacity building, innovation networking, and partnership development among Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), innovation leaders, startup enablers, technology transfer practitioners, and industry stakeholders from across the country. Through its participation, SNSU reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening research utilization, technology commercialization, and innovation-driven development in the Caraga Region.
Representing SNSU were University President ๐ฟ๐ง. ๐๐ค๐ฌ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ผ. ๐๐ก๐๐ฃ๐๐ค, WAVES Technology Business Incubator (TBI) Manager ๐ฟ๐ง. ๐๐ฉ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐. ๐๐ช๐จ๐๐๐ค, and Technology Transfer and Commercialization Office (TTCO) Manager ๐๐จ. ๐๐๐ง๐ฎ ๐ผ๐ข๐ค๐ง ๐. ๐๐๐๐ช๐๐ง๐ค๐. Their participation highlighted SNSUโs strong institutional commitment toward advancing innovation ecosystems, technology transfer mechanisms, and commercialization pathways within the university.
SNSU proudly joined the 26 Higher Education Institutions under the DOST-PCIEERD HEIRIT Program that qualified for the IMPACT NXT Cohort โ a national initiative focused on strengthening innovation management, commercialization readiness, and knowledge and technology transfer capacities among universities. The forum gathered university presidents, vice presidents for research, KTTO leaders, innovation managers, startup ecosystem builders, and commercialization experts to share best practices and collaborative strategies in translating university-generated technologies into real-world applications and community impact.
During the Presidents Forum, Dr. Plando emphasized that the goals of IMPACT NXT strongly align with SNSUโs ๐๐๐ก๐๐๐ฆ Agenda, particularly in advancing impactful research, innovation, industry collaboration, and knowledge transfer. She underscored the importance of transforming university-generated knowledge into technologies, products, and services that directly benefit communities and contribute to regional development.
The participation of the TTCO in these significant national events further strengthened SNSUโs efforts in building a more connected and impact-oriented innovation ecosystem. In celebration of National Innovation Month, the Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU), through its Technology Transfer and Commercialization Office (TTCO) in collaboration with the Food Innovation Center (FIC), actively participated in Panaghiusa 2026 held on April 29, 2026, at the SNSU City Gymnasium. The event served as a strategic platform to advance the Universityโs mission of translating research outputs into impactful, industry-ready technologies.
The TTCO prominently highlighted its role in facilitating the seamless transfer and commercialization of SNSU-developed innovations. Central to the showcase were research and development (R&D)-driven food products and agri-based technologies that have undergone technology transfer processes and are now being adopted by partner industries. Among the featured innovations was FermaGrow, a solar-powered fermentation equipment for biofertilizer production, which demonstrates SNSUโs commitment to sustainable, climate-responsive solutions for agriculture. Complementing this were various food products developed and enhanced through the FIC, reflecting the Universityโs strong capacity in food innovation and product commercialization.
Partner industriesโincluding Lisbos Cacao Trading, Ladgaron Mushroom Growers Association (LADMUSGA), Purino Integrated Farm, and Aquarianne Food Manufacturingโtook center stage as beneficiaries of SNSUโs technology transfer initiatives. Their participation demonstrated the successful commercialization of assisted technologies, highlighting real-world applications that contribute to enterprise development, value addition, and local economic growth. Each partner shared their journey in adopting SNSU technologies, underscoring the critical role of TTCO in providing guidance on intellectual property management, licensing, and market deployment.
Through this initiative, TTCO reaffirmed its mandate to strengthen the innovation-to-market ecosystem of the Universityโensuring that research outputs are protected, packaged, and positioned for sustainable commercialization. The collaboration between TTCO and FIC exemplifies a unified approach in driving inclusive innovation and empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the region.
