As part of the First LINGAS Summit 2026 held on May 20โ€“22, 2026 at the SNSU City Gym, Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU) celebrated another important milestone through the Blessing and formal launching of the Tourism and Innovative Products Display (TRIPOD) at SNSU City Campus.

The establishment of TRIPOD marks a significant step in strengthening SNSUโ€™s innovation and commercialization ecosystem by providing a dedicated facility that promotes the showcasing, marketing, and commercialization of research and development (R&D) outputs generated by SNSU innovators and technologies transferred to partner industries. The facility is envisioned to serve as a strategic platform that bridges academic innovation, entrepreneurship, tourism promotion, and industry collaboration.

The ceremonial blessing symbolized not only the inauguration of the facility but also SNSUโ€™s continuing commitment to transforming research outputs into market-driven products and community-responsive innovations. Through TRIPOD, the university aims to create wider opportunities for innovators, researchers, students, and industry partners to showcase locally developed technologies, creative products, and tourism-oriented innovations that contribute to economic growth and sustainable regional development.

The center will be directly managed by ๐˜ฟ๐™ง. ๐™๐™–๐™ฃ๐™™๐™ฎ ๐™Š. ๐˜ฟ๐™š๐™จ๐™˜๐™–๐™ง๐™ฉ๐™š๐™ฃ, who will oversee the operations, coordination, and implementation of programs related to product promotion, commercialization initiatives, and partnership engagements. Under his leadership, TRIPOD is expected to become a dynamic hub for innovation showcasing, technology transfer, and enterprise development that will strengthen the visibility and market potential of SNSU-developed products and technologies.

During the event, university officials, stakeholders, faculty members, students, industry partners, and guests witnessed the dedication of the facility as part of SNSUโ€™s expanding innovation infrastructure. The center is envisioned to support not only product display and promotion but also collaborative activities that enhance commercialization pathways, tourism development initiatives, and innovation-driven entrepreneurship in the region.

The launching and blessing of TRIPOD strongly align with the vision and goals of the LINGAS Summit 2026 theme,

In celebration of National Innovation Month, the Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU), through its Technology Transfer and Commercialization Office (TTCO) in collaboration with the Food Innovation Center (FIC), actively participated in Panaghiusa 2026 held on April 29, 2026, at the SNSU City Gymnasium. The event served as a strategic platform to advance the Universityโ€™s mission of translating research outputs into impactful, industry-ready technologies.

The TTCO prominently highlighted its role in facilitating the seamless transfer and commercialization of SNSU-developed innovations. Central to the showcase were research and development (R&D)-driven food products and agri-based technologies that have undergone technology transfer processes and are now being adopted by partner industries. Among the featured innovations was FermaGrow, a solar-powered fermentation equipment for biofertilizer production, which demonstrates SNSUโ€™s commitment to sustainable, climate-responsive solutions for agriculture. Complementing this were various food products developed and enhanced through the FIC, reflecting the Universityโ€™s strong capacity in food innovation and product commercialization.

Partner industriesโ€”including Lisbos Cacao Trading, Ladgaron Mushroom Growers Association (LADMUSGA), Purino Integrated Farm, and Aquarianne Food Manufacturingโ€”took center stage as beneficiaries of SNSUโ€™s technology transfer initiatives. Their participation demonstrated the successful commercialization of assisted technologies, highlighting real-world applications that contribute to enterprise development, value addition, and local economic growth. Each partner shared their journey in adopting SNSU technologies, underscoring the critical role of TTCO in providing guidance on intellectual property management, licensing, and market deployment.

Through this initiative, TTCO reaffirmed its mandate to strengthen the innovation-to-market ecosystem of the Universityโ€”ensuring that research outputs are protected, packaged, and positioned for sustainable commercialization. The collaboration between TTCO and FIC exemplifies a unified approach in driving inclusive innovation and empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the region.

The Technology Transfer and Commercialization Office extends its sincere appreciation to the SNSU Administration for its steadfast support in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship. Likewise, heartfelt gratitude is conveyed to the Research, Innovation, and Extension (RIE) Unit for its continuous guidance and dedication to fostering a culture of research utilization and community engagement. Their collective efforts have been instrumental in advancing SNSUโ€™s participation in Panaghiusa 2026 and in strengthening its impact on industry and society.
