𝐒𝐍𝐒𝐔 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐒 𝟏𝟓𝐓𝐇 𝐁𝐎𝐀𝐑𝐃 𝐎𝐅 𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒 𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐓 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃 𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐋 𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐄

April 29, 2026 — Surigao del Norte State University successfully held its 15th Regular Board of Regents (BOR) Meeting at CHED Central Office in Manila.

CHED Commissioner Ricmar P. Aquino, the SNSU BOR Chairperson, presided over the meeting together with the distinguished members of the Board of Regents.

A total of 25 agenda items were presented and thoroughly discussed, covering key items under policy matters, administrative matters, academic matters, research matters, extension matters, and legal matters, including items for confirmation. Two items were deferred for further review and discussion.

With this, SNSU expresses its sincere appreciation to the members of the Board of Regents for their continued support and steadfast commitment to the University. The University likewise extends its deepest gratitude to Commissioner Aquino for his invaluable guidance and insights, which significantly contribute in shaping SNSU’s direction. Their decisions continue to play a vital role in guiding the University’s growth and overall development.

Further, SNSU recognizes the dedication of the University officials, agenda proponents, the Office of the Board Secretary, and the technical working group whose collective efforts ensured the smooth and productive conduct of the meeting.

𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 007: 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐍𝐒𝐔 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬

The "Batang Surigaonon Youthniversity on Wheels" rolled into Surigao Del Norte State University today, April 28, 2026, for Class 007, a high-impact workshop designed to transform student leaders into effective public servants. The session opened with high-level briefings from SK Federated President Hon. Jenelyn Edulzura and USC President Hon. Angelo L. Rodriguez.

At the heart of the event was the "Officers’ Basic Course: A Guide for Organization Officers" comprehensive discussion. Led by Local Youth Development Coordinator Mr. Richmond Anthony Riain Alfonso, the discussion focused on the character of leadership, stressing that influence comes from being accountable, responsible, and deeply committed to one's constituents. By exploring various leadership styles and the core responsibilities of a board of directors, the training challenged officers to move beyond their titles and lead with genuine purpose.

The workshop also provided essential training in parliamentary integrity, utilizing the MSDAO protocol (Motion, Second, Discussion, Amendment, and Objection) to ensure transparent and orderly meetings. Supported by the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO), the day equipped Surigao’s youth with the character and competence needed to lead with confidence.

Ultimately, the session served as a powerful reminder that true leadership is not defined by a seat at the table but by the integrity and heart one brings to the service of others.

NEWS | The SNSU Board of Regents has approved the establishment of the University-wide Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) Office under the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

The ETEEAP Office shall oversee the implementation of the University’s ETEEAP, including admissions, assessment, accreditation of prior learning, and coordination with the different colleges and academic units.

This was approved through BOR Resolution No. 21, s. 2026, duly passed on March 20, 2026 during the Special Board of Regents Meeting held at the SNSU Del Carmen Campus, Del Carmen, Surigao del Norte, Philippines.
