Today, on 𝐍𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐲 𝐀𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐃𝐚𝐲, we remember August 21, 1983, when former Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. was assassinated after returning to the Philippines from exile. His death became an important part of the country’s history during Martial Law, and his story continues to be told today as we look back on freedom, democracy, justice, and the political realities Filipinos faced during that period.

Forty-three years later, remembering Ninoy Aquino should also mean looking at the country we live in today. We are reminded through this event that change does not occur solely by remembering one person, but it also happens when we pay attention to what is happening around us, and of course, take part in building a better society. As Paulinians, may we carry that same spirit by 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞 in our fellow Filipinos and by 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞, 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐮𝐩, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐨 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭. 🇵🇭

Change should start now, especially we SPUS stands with CEAP for the 𝙙𝙖𝙥𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨𝙖 𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜 movement.
