𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗦, 𝗕𝗨𝗜𝗟𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡

On August 18, 2026, the University Student Council- Executive Branch (USC-EB) conducted an initial preparatory meeting for the upcoming Acquaintance Party and other activities ahead.

The meeting served as an opportunity for the Council to align its plans, ideas, and preparations for the celebration before opening the discussion to the wider group of officers.

With the initial groundwork laid, the Council looks forward to bringing everyone together to hear their suggestions, perspectives, and ideas as we work collectively to shape an Acquaintance Party that reflects what our students want and can truly enjoy.

Because every memorable event starts with a vision, a plan, and a team willing to make it happen.

𝙎𝙉𝙎𝙐 𝘾𝙡𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙨 𝙁𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝘼𝙞𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙊𝙘𝙘𝙪𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙎𝙖𝙛𝙚𝙩𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜✨

Surigao del Norte State University – Claver Campus conducted a First Aid and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Training at the SNSU Claver Function Hall, centered on the theme, “Empowering Every Employee with Life-Saving Skills, Workplace Safety, and Gender-Responsive Emergency Preparedness.”

The training aimed to strengthen the participants’ knowledge and preparedness in responding to workplace emergencies while promoting a safer, more inclusive, and gender-responsive environment.

The program featured Sir Gilberto P. Lacbayo as one of the speakers, who discussed Gender Sensitivity, emphasizing the importance of understanding gender-related concerns and fostering respect, inclusivity, and sensitivity in the workplace.

The training also featured FO2 Jhun Mar E. Larong, FO2 Marvelyn E. Relleta, and FO1 Mercy S. Amarille of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), who facilitated the First Aid Training. The BFP personnel demonstrated proper emergency response procedures, including appropriate actions during incidents such as drowning and choking.

To reinforce the lessons, faculty members, University Student Council (USC) officers, and ROTC officers actively participated in practical demonstrations. The hands-on activities allowed participants to apply the concepts discussed and gain greater confidence in responding to emergency situations.

The event was organized through the initiative of Ma’am Johna E. Lacbayo, GAD Coordinator, and Dean Mark A. Ogaob, OSH Coordinator, highlighting the institution’s commitment to strengthening workplace safety, gender responsiveness, and emergency preparedness.

Through the training, SNSU Claver emphasized that workplace safety goes beyond awareness—it requires knowledge, readiness, and the confidence to act when lives are at risk. The skills and lessons gained by the participants are expected to contribute to a safer and more prepared campus community.

The SNSU Claver Campus grounds bustled with energy on August 12, 2026, as we officially welcomed another academic year through SUGOD ESKWELA 2026, a celebration that brought together our students, university officials, local government leaders, industry partners, faculty, staff, and the entire campus community.

The celebration was made even more meaningful through the presence and support of our esteemed guests and partners. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Ronita E. Talingting, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Officer-in-Charge of SNSU Claver Campus, for her support and encouragement in making SUGOD ESKWELA 2026 possible. We also sincerely thank Dr. Eliza E. Bayang, SWK Director, for delivering the Welcome Address on her behalf and warmly opening the celebration.

We likewise extend our sincere appreciation to Mrs. Expedita L. Larase, Executive Assistant II of SNSU Claver Campus, for her presence, support, and continued commitment to the campus community.

We are equally grateful to Hon. Georgia D. Gokiangkee, Municipal Mayor of Claver, and Hon. Leah D. Patan, Municipal Vice Mayor of Claver, for gracing the occasion and sharing messages that reminded our SNSUans of the importance of education, leadership, and community.

Our deepest appreciation also goes to our valued industry partners from THPAL, represented by Mr. Jennies F. Cuesta, and TMC, represented by Ms. Imelith Matabaran, for joining us and continuing to extend their support to the SNSU Claver Campus community. Your partnership remains an important part of our journey toward quality education and meaningful opportunities for our students.

The celebration was further brought to life by the INDAK Dance Troupe, whose performance filled the program with energy and pride; our ROTC Officers, who carried out the ceremonial proceedings with discipline and honor; and our BSHM student, who shared their talents through a song presentation.

A significant moment of the celebration was the Turn-Over Ceremony, marking the transition from the outgoing to the newly elected University Student Council-Executive Branch (USC-EB). More than a change in leadership, it symbolized the continuity of student service and the responsibility to carry forward the voice and aspirations of the SNSU Claver Campus student body.

The celebration continued through the General Assembly, bringing SNSUans together as we officially stepped into another academic year filled with learning, leadership, service, and new possibilities.

Behind this celebration was the dedication and collective effort of the University Student Council-Executive Branch, whose hard work, preparation, coordination, and commitment brought SUGOD ESKWELA 2026 to life. From welcoming our students and sharing our Champorado Treats for Everyone to facilitating the program and bringing the campus community together, every moment was made possible through teamwork and a shared commitment to student service.

To our esteemed guests, university officials, local government leaders, industry partners, performers, ROTC Officers, faculty and staff, volunteers, and every SNSUan who became part of this celebration, thank you for making our SUGOD a meaningful one.

Guided by our theme, “Empowering Learners Through Unity and Quality Education as We Navigate Our Future, Together,” we begin this academic year united by one purpose and one direction: to move forward, together.

This is our SUGOD. This is our SNSU. And this year, we navigate our future…..TOGETHER.🎓
