🌕🏮 DINNER CELEBRATION | MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL & TEACHERS’ DAY 🏮🌕

A beautiful evening of gratitude, friendship, unity, and cultural celebration was shared at Gateway Hotel as we gathered to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and Teachers’ Day with our dear Chinese and English teachers, together with the members of the Surigao Filipino-Chinese community.

Everyone enjoyed a sumptuous dinner lovingly prepared by the Surigao Filipino-Chinese Chambers, Incorporated Officers and Members, headed by President Architect Charles Gosingco, and the Sun Yat Sen Board of Trustees, headed by Chairman Mr. Peter Paul Go. ❤️

Adding excitement and laughter to the celebration was the much-awaited Mooncake Game! 🥮🎉 Everyone had a wonderful time participating and discovering their fruit of luck—from hopia and various goods to exciting cash prizes! More than just a fun game, it brought smiles, laughter, and a wonderful sense of togetherness among everyone present.

🌕 Why do we celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival?

The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is one of the most important traditional celebrations in Chinese culture. It is traditionally celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar, when the moon is believed to be at its fullest and brightest.

The full moon symbolizes completeness, reunion, and harmony. Families and communities come together to share food, appreciate the moon, express gratitude, and celebrate their bonds with one another. 🏮🌕❤️

🥮 Mooncakes, a traditional symbol of the festival, are round like the full moon and represent togetherness, unity, and family reunion. In our celebration, the Mooncake Game carried that same spirit—bringing people together, strengthening friendships, and promoting unity and harmonious relationships within the community.

May the light of the full moon continue to remind us that, despite our differences, we are stronger when we come together in friendship, cooperation, harmony, and unity.
