Alexa Capul and Lloisa Faye C. Rosales took on the field as a Competing Team, building solid cases and creative rebuttals that stand strong under pressure. Meanwhile, Princess Mel Lerog joined as a Competing Adjudicator, guiding the flow of rounds with sharp analysis and fairness.

In every debate, just like in Minecraft, the best structures rise from solid foundations, and our grassroots community continues to build higher than ever. 🏗️🌱

Now, at the 1st Luzon Novice Debate Cup, she embarks on a new milestone, her first time as a breaking adjudicator beyond Surigao tournaments. From confidently delivering speeches to now sitting on a full prelim panel as a competing adjudicator at the cat-themed tournament, Cebu Pro-Am British Parliamentary. Mel is proving that growth in debate isn’t just about speaking—it’s about listening, analyzing, and making tough calls with fairness and precision. ⚖️🐾

This tournament marks an exciting new step in her journey, one where the adjudicator’s chair, is in a bigger and tougher national-open arena. Like a cat landing on its feet, Mel adapts, learns, and thrives, all the more ready to navigate the world of adjudication with keen eyes and a heart for fair play.

From the Islands of Personality to the Heights of Victory! 🌟🧠

Surigao del Norte Debate Ridge (SNDR) showcased their brilliance at the 8th Surigao Intervarsity Parliamentary Debate Competition (SIPDC), held at CV Diez Memorial Elementary School from February 28 – March 2!

After judging all tournament rounds, Tatiana Quiachon emerged as the tournaments 3RD BEST ADJUDICATOR joining some of the most skilled adjudicators across multiple institutions such as NEMCO, CRSHS, SNSU, SPUS, NEMSU and FSUU. She also chaired the College Semifinals and was one of the panelists of the College Grand Finals, making this her second grand finals appearance🏆

Kurt Acibo also broke in the final series of the tournament, chairing the High School Quarterfinals proving that after multiple tournaments, Kurt is one of the best adjudicators the ridge could offer. Truly a remarkable adj in the making🔥

We would also like to recognize SNNHS Team C (Dian Toldo, Julianna Arpilleda, Lloisa Rosales) for clinching the 2nd High School Reserve Breaking Team showing that the sweat, tears, and sacrifice during the preliminaries were still all worth the effort. Thank you for standing tall!

In addition, competing teams SNNHS A & B and adjudicator Princess Mel Lerog, SNDR proved that the power of debate—like emotions—drives us forward! We are so proud of you for fighting through! 💡💬

From Joy in victories to Disgust at logical fallacies, from Anger fueling fiery rebuttals to Sadness teaching resilience, and Fear keeping strategies sharp—every argument was a journey through the mind! 🏛️

The Surigao del Norte Debate Ridge is gearing up for the Surigao Inter-Parliamentary Debate Championship (SIPDC) this February 28 to March 2, and we need your support! 💙💛

Our delegation consists of 4 teams (3 debaters per team) and 4 adjudicators, plus our coach. The registration fees total:

₱500 per debater (9 debaters) = ₱4,500
₱500 per adjudicator (4 adjudicators) = ₱2,000 ₱200 for our coach

That’s a total of ₱6,700 of expenses primarily on our registration fees. Any financial assistance will greatly help us represent SNDR with pride and excellence. 🥹🙏🏻
