Following the ceremonial ribbon-cutting and opening of the science fair and poster exhibits, participants proceeded to their respective venues for the evaluation of research projects across different categories. Learners presented their studies before a panel of judges, explaining their methodologies, findings, and the significance of their work.

The DSTF provides a valuable opportunity for learners to communicate scientific ideas, defend their research, and showcase how evidence-based investigations can contribute to solving problems within their communities. Through the event, participants gain firsthand experience in the research process, from inquiry and experimentation to analysis and presentation.

More than a competition, the science fair promotes a culture of research, innovation, and critical thinking among learners. Designed to highlight the diverse talents of learners, the event featured a variety of STEM-focused activities that challenged participants to apply their knowledge, demonstrate technical skills, and think creatively. The event provided an engaging environment where learners could explore scientific concepts and showcase innovative ideas through friendly competition.

The opening program featured a welcome address from Dominico P. Larong, Jr., PhD, Chief of Curriculum Implementation DIvision, message from Segundo A. Madjos, Jr., PhD, CESO VI, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, as well as a statement of purpose from Atty. Queen Ann M. Navallo, PhD, EPSโ€“Science. The activity also formally introduced the members of the board of judges and featured the ceremonial ribbon-cutting that marked the opening of the event. Throughout the activities, learners demonstrated teamwork, problem-solving abilities, and a passion for innovation while engaging in various STEM-related challenges.

More than a competition, STEMazing 2026 served as a venue for learners to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and discover their potential in STEM fields. The event encouraged participants to transform ideas into meaningful outputs while fostering curiosity and lifelong learning.

With a touch of ingenuity, Teacher Teody L. Aboyot, an elementary teacher has transformed an ordinary nook into a beach-vibe reading haven, a whimsical refuge where young learners may linger, read, dream, and let their minds wander beyond the islandโ€™s familiar shores.

Here, scarcity does not dictate possibility. Through the empowering leadership of the school head Mrs. Marilou Escabal, teachers are encouraged to access and print learning materials from SDN EduHub, the Divisionโ€™s digital repository of teaching and learning resources, which offers storybooks and a wealth of other materials.

And so, beneath the borrowed shade of an umbrella and the quiet companionship of books, children discover that reading need not wait for abundance. Sometimes, all it requires is a little creativity, a willing teacher, and a school that believes in the boundless imagination of every child.
