𝟮𝗻𝗱-𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁

A team of 2nd-year Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering students at St. Paul University Surigao has successfully submitted their final project for the Fundamentals of Electronics Circuit course. Their project, a Home Automation System, was reviewed and approved by a panel of experts, including 𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙧. 𝘼𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙡𝙪𝙨 𝙑𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙂𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙨 (COE Dean), 𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙧. 𝘿𝙧𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙅𝙤𝙨𝙝𝙪𝙖 𝘽𝙚𝙨𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙤 (Computer Laboratory Staff and Faculty), and 𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙧. 𝙆𝙚𝙣 𝙃𝙚𝙣𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙠 𝘿𝙚𝙙𝙪𝙢𝙤 (Electronics, Mining, and Civil Laboratory Staff).

The project was developed by 𝙈𝙧. 𝙍𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙤 𝘿𝙚 𝙂𝙪𝙯𝙢𝙖𝙣, 𝙈𝙧. 𝙅𝙚𝙗𝙗 𝙉𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙍𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙤, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙨. 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙮 𝙇𝙮𝙣 𝙊𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙤𝙣, with the guidance of their course instructor, 𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙧. 𝙁𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙈𝙖𝙚 𝘾𝙖𝙢𝙤𝙜𝙖𝙤 (COE Full-time Faculty).

This initiative provides students with hands-on experience in IoT and automation, helping them bridge theoretical concepts with real-world applications. By designing and implementing a smart home system, the students enhanced their skills in circuit design, programming, and troubleshooting, preparing them for future challenges in the field of electronics and automation.

SPUS JOINS ICPEP 5TH CARAGA REGIONAL CONVENTION

Paulinians from the Institute of Computer Engineers of the Philippines - SPUS Chapter proudly represented St. Paul University Surigao (SPUS) at the ICpEP Caraga 5th Regional Convention held on March 6-8, 2025, at Caraga State University - Cabadbaran Campus (CSUCC).

With the theme “BRAINS 2025: Building Resilience through AI for Next-gen Sustainability,” Paulinian delegates engaged in technical discussions, competitions, and leadership activities. Three Paulinians—Kate Tupas (Vice President), Nicole Arpilleda (Secretary), and Khen Malaque (Auditor)—were elected as ICpEP.SE Caraga officers, further strengthening SPUS’s presence in the organization.

SPUS also excelled in competitions, securing 1st Runner-Up in the Breadboarding Contest, 3rd Runner-Up in the Quiz Bowl and Java Programming, and 4th Runner-Up in Mobile Legends, leading to an Overall 3rd Runner-Up finish.
